Spent a few hours wandering around the house and grounds. The docent was a little distracted by some small children but otherwise was good. Site could use some more signage geared towards adults too.

Burritt on the Montain is a great museum for younger children and for a family trip. The livestock and the old structures really make you feel like you're leaving in the early years of Alabama history. The views from the top of Monte Sano are...More

We were here for a wedding, despite the foggy, overcast days, it was beautiful. Wedding took place near the mansion at the overview of the city below. Lots of historic buildings to see.

Grounds were nice and outdoor cabins are great exhibits. Enjoyed the Blacksmith area. Unfortunately, the actual house was disappointing...not because of the house, but the impartial docent. We went there as a party of 7 expecting to join a group for a tour, but walked...More

Outstanding view of Huntsville and very scenic. Lots of neat history and old school building structure. New facility is very nice and is an excellent location for special events.

Of you're in to history, this is a cool place, and not so much for the mansion. The mansion was interesting, but it was the other side of the property that held my attention where you can see how people lived before the industrial revolution.
