A "must" while you are staying in North Goa

We have been there two years in a row. 2nd time around we knew exactly what to look for, we had made our shopping list. Bargaining is not everyone's cup of tea, but when you start... read more

We have been there two years in a row. 2nd time around we knew exactly what to look for, we had made our shopping list. Bargaining is not everyone's cup of tea, but when you start to think over the price quoted or start to walk away, a lower price is offered to you :-) - best buy for us... More

Watch out, it wraps up at nightfall as there's no outdoor lighting. Completely Camden Market, if you've ever been. I had a stroll around, all stalls are very similar and it's quite large, so don't just buy from the first few ones. It's easy to continue to one of the nearby beach shacks, making it a full day's outing.

Went for some gifts and came away absolutely exhausted after all the bartering with stall holders. Got some really good buys, aim for a price and walk away after you have given them your price and never go up in price. walk away and most will follow you as they want a sale. Think of what it would cost about... More

Visited during our recent visit to Goa. The market is on Anjuna beach on Wednesdays. Quite crowded and also colorful. Good stuff. But not really local. There were sellers from all over the country. And the stuff was not really cheap, or so we felt. But can go if one has time, else no point.

Three friends and I went to the markets early in the morning(recommended) and it was fun to barter down prices for clothes, shoes, jewellery and henna tattoos. However it was mainly bad quality, cheap products. We did have a good day, but not recommended if looking for good quality products.
