Middleburg Bastion is a small but interesting old Dutch fort in Melaka along the river, built around 1660 by the Dutch as part of the defensive fortifications of Melaka. It's a few minutes walk from the Old Dutch Square and worth a short visit.

Although it might be a battle ground to fought may wars, it is a peaceful place now which remind us of our late generations for their bravery to make a world a better place. My young daughter like to play around this area so much.

Situated right in the heart of Malaka, facing on the River (which it at one time guarded).. a lovely site at night all lit up.

There are a number of sections of the old fort around town. Together with a gate, this is the most intact. As with many historic sites in Melaka, there is good signage to explain what you are looking at.
