Arrived at this place at 6.30pm hoping that we could dine early to avoid the crowd. Chose the most popular outlet. Food came 1 hour late. There's nothing special about the seafood. The touts are irritating as they swarmed the patrons with their choice of restaurant. Poor service. Took a long time even to get the bill. However, the coastal... More

This time we went, we had the Portuguese baked fish which we really enjoyed (fish was really fresh and chilli was unique). We also had ginger clams, baked and salted egg yolk crabs, sotong fritters and kang kong. Seafood was very fresh and value for money. Paid RM222 for 4 people.

As well as a Historical place to visit it also has the best (and not expensive) array of seafood Restaurants in the region. And it still a 'working harbour'. a 5-8 minute tax ride from the centre of Malacca. Though if you are 'daring'.. 35-45 minute walk - which I can say is a photographers paradise.. having done the walk... More

I love the salted and blackpepper crab. The crab was freshly cooked. Am not sure about you but I feel it is a bit pricey (RM86 for a dish of 2 crab). On weekends, the place are super crowded. So, if you plan to eat there, plan ahead....

Portuguese settlement in Malacca still kept its root and great celebration during Christmas and religious festives are good times for visit. During normal periods, authentic Portuguese cooking and mouth watering sea foods can be found in Portuguese Settlement. Our favourites are Dabel curry and brinjals cooked Portuguese style. Fresh fish and prawns and lala go well with the special lime... More

Every time I visit Portuguese Settlement sure I enjoyed seafood at stall no.7, highly recommend to seafood lover, salted egg Grab u can't miss it! And the price is reasonable, the cook were the direct descendant of Portugal. But longer waiting time on weekends and public holidays, especially on Christmas, you will be stuck on the entrance of Portuguese Settlement.
