The Hang Jebat Mausoleum is the tomb of Hang Jebat, the legendary Malaccan and friend of the equally famed Hang Tuah. While loyal to his friend, Hang Jebat is equally well known for rebelling against the sultan and as the story goes, went on a rampage. I can’t speak about the veracity of such stories because I only came to see the mausoleum. The mausoleum is contained within a walled garden at the end of which is Islamic style grave underneath a canopy. The garden and general area are surprisingly well kept. The garden has several display boards describing the story of Hang Jebat in more detail. The mausoleum is okay and is worth a quick look if you’re in the area nto get a little bit of local history.

Visited the Mausoleum of Hang Jebat , located on Jalan Hang Jebat , Melaka , near the Jalan Kg Kuli, and Jalan Kg Pantai.
The traditional grave of Hang Jebat, a high-ranking Malay warrior during the rule of Sultan Mansor Shah (1456-77).
An interesting tale is associated with his life. Legend says that he was appointed to a high position after Hang Tuah, his predecessor and sworn-brother, was wrongfully accused of having an affair with one of the King's maids.
But rather than accepting his position, Hang Jebat rose to Hang Tuah's defense and exclaimed "A fair rajah is to be revered, but a cruel rajah is to be despised." These words earned the wrath of the Sultan, who decided that Hang Jebat ought to be executed.
The grave itself is Achinese in style and is of the type normally used to mark the burial places of high ministers or Sultans of the period, so it is possible that Hang Jebat was a real person buried here.
The age of the grave is unknown but it clearly predates the 1512 Portuguese occupation.
Worth a visit , because of its legend and significance history.

If you don't know the background, there are just a few plaques there to read about someone who was apparently important to Malacca's history. It s a well kept mini cemetery. Nothing more.

There is a rich folklore about Hang Jebat, and he plays an important part in the history of Melaka, along with his more famous compatriot Hang Tuah.
Kind of a shame that the burial place for this important figure is relegated to a side street, with little signage or distinction. Definitely not a "mausoleum" (in the definition of the word) - it is a small cemetery, with a well kept (small) garden, with a signage that tells the story of his (dis)loyalty to the Sultan/Hang Tuah respectively.
Came away a bit disappointed at the treatment of this historical figure.

This small mausoleum is half hidden on a little side street in the old city and though in reality there is not much to see, I found its simple structure, whitewashed walls and little garden peaceful, harmonic and beautiful.
There are a few big signs telling Hang Jabat's story (possibly a mix of history and legend).

The Hang Jebat Mausoleum contains the tomb of Hang Jebat who was the friend of the national hero Hang Tuah. History mentions that Hang Jebat tried to protect his friend but was accused of treachery to the King and was slain by Hang Tuah himself as punishment.

Although the place is easy to find, it is less crowded. Surrounded by old shophouses, the place to-be at if you want a quiet retreat.
And try not to degrade or litter the grounds to show respect as it is a tomb after all.
