Nice street for entertainment and restaurants

We stayed at the Renaissance Hotel. Walked to many restaurants and bars. Strong police presence made us feel safe and comfortable.

Heard that this place was hot on weekends so I cruised down to check it out. There were quite a few people moving among several bars in the area and overall it was jumping - but on a fairly small scale and overall a hipster/hip hop sort of atmosphere. Seemed like mostly a close-knit local crowd who was there with... More

Neat area; however, the restaurants closed early and there was hardly any place to eat after 8:00. Town seemed to close up.

We are an Australian family doing a two week road trip of the Deep South and only decided to stay in Mobile because it seemed like a good first day drive from Atlanta. However we stayed in the historic district near Dauphin st and couldn't believe the cool vibe of this street with all its cool bars and cafes. The... More

Lovely little area with shops a plenty. Friendly shop owners. Easily accessible from the main roads.

This is such a cool place to walk around. There is metered parking as well as garage parking. You can walk up and down this street and explore gift shops and peanut store along with find a place to eat and drink. It also has a beautiful view of downtown skyline.

Had a few days off after Christmas and chose to go to Mobile. The shops and restaurants on Dauphin were great. We walked everywhere and felt safe the entire time.

Eye candy! I love historical houses and Dauphin street is full of them. The interesting thing about the street is that it is filled with all sizes of houses and eras, some mixed within the street. You will see antebellum style houses alongside Victorian and a wealth of bungalows from the early 1900's to 1940's. It's an architecture-fan's dream.

Dauphin Street is fun and brims with history. There is a tiny but wonderful Greek restaurant on Dauphin and a great tea room just off the main drag. Loved it!!!

The oldest shops in the city are here, dating back to the 19th century. I was very pleased to find the old single screen Crescent Theater, which shows Oscar-quality films.
