Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Although I have been to Mobile several times, this is the first time I have taken the opportunity to visit this museum. I did not know what to expect so everything was new and fresh. The displays are professionally done, laid out in a logical order and very informative. I recommend it as a very good way to learn the early history of Mobile and it’s relationship to other Gulf Coast communities.

We visited the History Museum of Mobile whose ticket also covers admission to the fort. At 12 pm when we left the museum, the gates were open, but we decided to see it at the end of our day...around 3:45 because it closes at 4:30. I knew from the reviews that it's a partial reproduction of the original fort and doesn't take much time to tour. Well it was closed and locked when we arrived.

You purchase tickets at the museum a short walk away. While there I went through an Egyptian exhibit which otherwise would make the ticket price not worth it for the fort alone. The fort itself is a reproduction with minimal original artifacts on display. There was a gentleman who worked there that answered a few questions prior to the self-guided tour of the grounds. Lots of reading to understand what all took place. This is down town so expect to pay for parking on top of the cost of entrance.

I was interested in seeing Fort Conde as part of my touring around Mobile and the bay area. I have to say of all the forts in the area this one can be given a miss. There is really not much to see in terms of the history of the fort and possible the best thing to do is take photos of the skyscrapers of Mobile.
To tour the fort you need to buy your tickets to both the fort and the history museum. I did not know this at first so arrived at Fort Conde first. I was told that I could tour the fort for free then buy my ticket at the museum which I found extremely odd. I did the honest thing and bought my tickets first but just ended up shaking my head throughout most of the time there.

We brought family and had a great time walking around, and asking questions of the staff dressed in 17-1800 attire. They gave us lots to ponder and think back on the forts history. We would recommend. We are interested in returning again and also waiting to see the opening of the time capsule in 2026

The Reproduction Fort Conde is a nice addition to the Mobile History Museum and included with the Museum ticket. Only takes about 45 min to do. Small exhibit of the history of the fort is interesting. Originally located across Church St in what is now Mardi Gras Park.

This hotel is truly exceptional. If you have an opportunity stay here. The area is unique and the staff is friendly and outstanding. But the breakfast is incredible. The menu selection includes a host of unique items. My favorite was the banana foster french toast. WOW
You won’t be disappointed if you choose this spot.

There is a lot of cool historical things on display here, but it's pretty basic. Kids and history lovers will like it for sure. Since it's a recreation (not their fault, obviously) it would have been cooler had it been the actual location, etc. But still a cool place. Check out the Mardi Gras park right next to it and inexpensive parking lot too.

Great way to get a snapshot of the historical area. Our driver was very friendly and offered lots of suggestions on what to see and what to eat and where.
And it's free!
After the short ride around the area on the trolley we went back.on our own to places we wanted to see again.

I grew up going to Fort Conde and I was anticipating going back to recall the history of Mobile. However, it was a total disappointment. There was little historical information. The artifacts appeared to clearly be fake. The escape room has no explanation. The arcade didn't work. We slowly walked around the Fort, which took 20 minutes to complete. The new ownership has driven the experience into the ground. Would not go if you've never been.

It was 6 or 8 dollars, we are both 60, so I do not know the price for kids. We felt it was worth it and a great place to take pictures Robert
