I've been in many of the most famous museums in the world. While this museum is certainly not on that list, it's much bigger and better than someone would expect to find in Montgomery, AL. The artwork is impressive and diverse. The collection of American art is my favorite. They have a very large storage area and rotate different pieces... More

You wil rarely see a Museum of Fine Arts which is so beautifully located. Can see the place in an hour, without rushing. A very good permanent collection and, judging from the temporary one, this museum really works hard to bring great art. Free admission is a bonus (and the Gift Shop is a nice way to "give back")

The kids loved the hands on part of the museum which kept them entertained for over an hour. Other parts of the museum have interesting art that will interest a variety of children.

They have a pretty good collection - not large, maybe 100 pieces, most of them paintings. But what they have is quite good. The paintings are mostly American, from 1840 thru modern times, but with little modern art. They have one of the best Thomas Hart Benton’s I’ve ever seen, a great Marsden Hartley, a Peacable Kingdom and quite a... More

We really enjoyed this Museum - the exhibition by the Colombian artist was fab and made the whole visit fun - the rest of the exhibits too we both enjoyed - I did not know much about American artists but have learned a lot.

What an incredible museum! I only wish we had more time, but we were on a tight schedule. The art is beautiful - The student art is absolutely incredible with the creativity that I could feel coming from each student. This is a great place to bring family ... bring your children .. inspire them to greatness!!

Was blown away by the mix of old and modern. Displayed art was national in scope not just local. Everything inside and out was very high quality. Signage was a little small for my aging eyes and too low for my tall body. Restaurant was exceptional. Highly recommend. Among the top three regional museums I have seen.

I LOVE MMFA! They have two stories as well as a learning center and kids center. They have installs that stay and others that they interchange. It's a lot of fun whether you are a child or an adult!

Never expected such a nice museum here in Montgomery. A variety of period artists, sculptures, children's area etc. it's free and takes about 1-2 hours. Nice gift shop and restaurant. Highly recommend.

Even though it was a short visit, this museum is very different from any other I've seen. It varies from fine art to tramp art.
