i have been documenting the interior of this factory for 2 years now for HPRA. It has an amazing history and built cotton gins from 1848 through 2007. The building is not open to the public but the exterior and dam is one of the...More

A big part of Prattville history is the Cotton Gin Mill. You can view it across the river and just imagine what it was like back in the day when this was in operation. It's a shame the building is in such disrepair.

I adore the Mill. You can swim and wade the waters all the way up to the mill building, and it's a great little activity to do in the summer. I had a very romantic date here when my boyfriend and I were still doing...More

It would be more helpful if there were more information about the mills. Basically walk around and read the plaques. Only takes a few minutes out of your day.

It was neat to see, wish there had been more of a history provided on it. But was pretty to see & the town in general was really nice

It's worth the ride to see this hidden gem if you're in the area. I wasn't too sure what to expect, but was pleasantly surprised. Especially great if you enjoy history. You can't tour the place, it's strictly a scenic stop.

This is an interesting slice of history that can be viewed from across the creek. Neat if you like old architecture and history. You can see the transition from 1800's buildings to what are probably 1950's or so era buildings.

A reminder of the once great era of the cotton industry and how it carried this little community. It is situated in the heart of the small town nestled along side the once busy river and damn, from which the steam power was derived to...More
