Top ways to experience Shanghai New International Expo Centre (SNIEC) and nearby attractions
The area
Address
Neighbourhood: Century Park
Shanghai residents see Pudong’s suburbs as the place that grown-ups retreat to when they’re ready to settle down and stop living in the cramped confines of a refurbished lanehouse. The areas around Century Park are some of the most desirable as they are in close proximity to the Metro Lines, granting easy access to the heart of Puxi. The park itself is a huge draw, it’s one of Shanghai’s biggest and there are sports fields tucked into one of its corners, but five-star hotels, museums and great malls make life in the Century Park area easy for the homesick foreigner. And if living in a Western bubble in China isn’t your thing, there is plenty of local flavor to be had in between the major development. Some of Lujiazui’s futurism can also be seen in buildings and sculptures throughout the neighborhood as well.

It was another year for FHC, one of the largest food show of China. Personally no disappointments from my side. Because its 2020. The show was not huge like last few years. But it was a great show. Much better than I expected. Very strong Italian pavilion with lot of activities, especially in N5.
US pavilion was also very active. One of the highlights of the show was US beef tasting in N1 for the first two days. Actually, there were many local distributors from greater China created the US pavilions in different halls.
I was completely occupied in all N halls for the first two days. But fortunately, I was able to spend time in W halls in the last day of the show. ProWine was strong in W4 and W5. We saw lot of brands from Napa Valley, Australia and French vineyards. It was a great show. Possibly, one of the best trade show of 2020.

It was a great show this year, just couple of weeks ago. Not a very big show and not a very small show. Lot of Exhibitors, mostly domestic.
Highlight of the show was Seafood Tasting session from Norwegian Seafood Pavilion. Norway dominated the show this year with a huge pavilion of their own and pavilion from different partners.
Excellent Show with free flow Seafood and Hot Pot tasting for three days for all visitors and exhibitors. Hall N1 was the home for all domestic Hot Pot vendors from Sichuan, Chongqing and other places.

Just came out from the Shanghai New International Expo Center (SNIEC) few minutes ago after the Show. Hotelex Shanghai 2019 just closed its door after 4 days of nonstop business events, activities and free flow of food and beverage tasting almost in every hall.
It was the 28th version of Shanghai International Hospitality Equipment & Food Service Expo (Hotelex Shanghai 2019). A one-step purchase platform of Food & Hotel Industry. This year, it was huge, really a big show, fulfilling the whole SNIEC with 17 indoor halls (N1-N5, W1-W5, E1-E7) and 11 halls outside.
SNIEC is located in Pudong and directly connected with Metro Line 2 & 7. There are many hotels around SNIEC, including three five star hotels (Kerry Hotel, Jumeirah and Doubletree Hilton). But possibly need better hotels in this area soon.
I visit SNIEC quite frequently. At least, once a month for different trade shows. It's a massive venue and getting better everyday for over fifteen years. Looking forward to my next visit. See you soon SNIEC.

I was in the Shanghai New International Exhibition Center (SNIEC) last week for the 19th Edition of the SIAL. This is not the first time for me. I came to this Show many times in the past. But I have no memory about my first SIAL experience. Same venue. But the show this year was much bigger and certainly better. I was at the show almost everyday. It's one of my most favorite trade show in Shanghai. It's Asia's largest food Innovation Exhibition with more than 100,000 visitors every year. Metro line 7 is directly connected with SNIEC. But unfortunately, there are not enough hotels in this area. So everybody has to commute to their hotels after the show. Kerry Hotel is next door with more than 500 rooms. Jumeirah Shanghai is also here with more than 400 rooms. Doubletree Hilton is not too far from the SNEIC. They also have more than 800 rooms. And there is a Crown Plaza and a Renaissance nearby. This year, SIAL took all the halls (W1-W5, N1-N5, E1-E7). From my perspective, N1 was the most interesting. Because the Cargo section started from this side. Boeing was there with other big players in this industry. Later, after the show there was a gala dinner by the Airline Cargo Industry at the Jumeirah Ballroom. It was a great show this year. I am looking forward to the 20th Edition of the SIAL at the SNIEC next year.

The FHC China 2012, The organisers who had the Culinary competition happeing, . The place was not set with opening time not in sync with our competition tinmings. The security personnals were to understanding with over 650 oarticipants spread over 3 days to be judged. We were given a shocker mentioning that sharp 5 P.M. all the power and doors to be shut down.. With the language as a hiddrence.. and the event jury chairman was tossed between the halls that were happening between yawning gap.. was fum yet threatening that we might end up missing some schedules. It was fortunate though that we squeezed in on time and the event went on well from start to end with fewer glitches that were kept under the carpet. With the new construction in the middle it was again noisy yrt with winter setting in with creeping cold all went well

As an expo it is a zero-star tourist attraction. But it is an OK expo with several McDonalds outlets + a good proximity to Kerry Hotel and Mall, where there is a good selection of international food.

One word to describe the Shanghai Expo 2010 ....
A M A Z I N G ....
So many people ... So many to see ... So many walking on foot
But now it's already demolish what i heard :(
I'm feeling very lucky to have opportunity to see the Shanghai Expo 2010.
You can visit so many pavillion represent each country participant in the area ... start with the China pavilion with the giant red building ... So cool !
You can also see the nature / culture / special product of each country participant there ..
The negative things is the queue is extra ordinary long especially the China pavillion.
If there will be another Shanghai Expo i would like to visit again.

Huge place with several halls, and much space for expansion. I wish they had more of those little shuttles to ferry people between the buildings.

Does anyone know which direction of Metro Line 2 is most crowded ?
i will be traveling from Nanjing road station to LongYang Road station
Is it better for me to take the metro after 9am to avoid the human tsunami crowd ?
by leaving at 4pm from expo and travel back to nanjing road to avoid the peak hours ?
Written 10 April 2019
Yes. After 9am morning crowd is better. After 10am, there is no rush hour traffic. If you leave SNIEC before 4pm, you can also avoid the traffic on your way back.
