Staying at the GoldenTulip on Beach, traditional Chinese hotel where every room is smoking. The beach is not a place you can swim and infact I would not swim there.....not good.
Not a place for the tourist
Access to Jinshan and the beach area is now vastly improved with the opening of Metro line 22. Over 35 trains a day from Shanghai South Station to Jinshan by hi-speed bullet train.

This overcrowded (as typical in China) "beach" takes over 2,5 hours to get from Shanghai centre. Imported sand, artificial cleaned water and no swim rule will probably dissatisfy you. But to see Chinese to step into water full dressed will entertain you in other hand.
