This is a big train station. You will find your way quite easily. There are a number of good shops and chance to eat is ok - McDonald's and KFC. Being connected to Hongqiao airport is ver convenient.

Was taking the train from Qufu and had to get to the hongqiao airport (as there are two airports - Hongqiao and Pudong international). Station is clean and well signed in Chinese and English. If transferring to the first airport, take line 10 as it goes to both terminal 1 and 2. Make sure you know which one you are... More

It is a very very large station and is very crowded as you would expect in Shanghai. More modern, clean and convenient than the other stations in the city though.

We travelled from this Railway Station to the Yellow Mountains. The place is spotless even although thousands of people travel through here daily. Easy for a Westener to use as well. Their transport system especially the bullet train is amazing.

Nothing more but what should you expect more. As everywhere perfectly organised and clean. What more do you want. Ah yeah. Trains what are on time. But .... in china is that standard. Strange that the rest of the world has more issues with that.

You can get there using the metro, it is also connected to the airport. Good facilities and easy to find.

After spending 6 hours on a train , the last thing you want is to stand in a taxi line for another hour , be warned , especially at night , taxi lines are long and slow , don't waste your time getting into a black taxi ( freelance) it's not worth Akins a chance ,,

On all my business trips to China I rely, as much as possible, on the High Speed Railway system to travel between cities and have been to many a Railway station. The Hongqiao Railway Station is one if the best - modern, fairly easy to get around even if you don't know Chinese and relatively short queues to buy tickets.... More

A very big and organised railway station. Unfortunately, non-Chinese has to queue up to the counters to buy tickets, making it a very time consuming activity. The Chinese can use either online booking or the ticket machines. I could get my tickets without any use of Chinese. With the lines to get tickets and the long security checks, make sure... More

Our train ride to Suzhou was from this station. Nothing special, but crowded and smoky smelling. We ran into a ticket problem which got us worried a bit, but luckily one of the attendants at the ticketing booth spoke English which made easier to solve the situation.
