The riverside walk along the Bund may be busy and crowded during the day, but with good reason - it's simply a must when in Shanghai for people-watching and getting a good feel for the city.

A wonderful place to stroll along the riverfront, enjoying the historical financial district on one side of the river and the high rise/skyscrapers in the Pudong New Area on the other. Safe and clean, the promenade has lovely topiaries and garden walls that add to...More

The whole area could be pretty but again way too many people and the air is so think with smog you can't see to the other side of the river. Visit at your own risk. Nothing much to see.

One of the many promenades along huangpu river. Not as famous as the bund one. This is the binjiang or west bund one. Because it’s quieter, better for jogging, roller blading, cycling

Good area for a gentle walk in both the daytime and the evening. Light show views in the evening are a bonus.

Unfortunately we had chosen Golden Week to drop in on Shanghai - a time when most of China seems to be on a week long break. However, even at night when the light display from the Cityscape was in full swing, the promenade was still...More

The two things are completely different. The promenade is a nice place for a stroll or walk. Just have a nice time taking in the sights and enjoying the view.
