Concur with all the positives afore-mentioned and will add that the sanctuary spa (Zhong Shan Park branch) is a God-sent and the absolute highlight of my recent Shanghai visit. For all seeking repose and an unsurpassed pampering beauty treat, a trip to this meticulously, immaculately and professionally run establishment is a luxurious and well-worth-the-money “must” on all fronts. Having experienced what out-of-the-world service is all about from such a visit, one becomes immeasurably savvy about one’s beauty choices for oneself, and expectations of what any spa worth its salt should deliver. No gimmicks, no hard-sell and no fancy facade/ambience masquerading as AAA without substance. My therapist had excellent bedside manners, was gentle and lulled me to a restful slumber with her prolific skills, after an in-depth consultation on my lifestyle and beauty routines with the wonderful, deeply knowledgeable and immensely gregarious proprietor. The environment was spotless to a fault, and the overall experience, at its core, imbued in me a tremendous sense of wellness, as well as being in a safe haven. My parched albeit generally clear face was absolutely radiant, intensely hydrated and wonderfully good-to-go after my session. The effects lasted a few days and I was absolutely stoked to be able to walk around with my gloriously bare face. Having travelled the world extensively and enjoyed many a luxurious and expensive treatment of all sorts, I would boldly state here that a visit to the sanctuary spa is one of the beyond-value-for-money, quality me-time investments one could pamper oneself with, during and off vacation. It is truly a slice of heaven on earth and delivers the titanium standard for all seeking the best one could demand for one’s body, mind and soul.

The ambience of The Sanctuary literally lives up to its name. I booked the massage as my first holiday itinerary after 5-hour red eye flight. The therapist was skillful and the massage was rejuvenating, I caught up with the much needed sleep! The entire premises is clean and neat. Toilet is five star hotel standard.

Well done The Sanctuary Spa team!

The sanctuary is truly one of the best place where I have been for facial treatment and massages in 3 years. If you pass by, you should definitely go. Is a luxury gift that everyone should receive!

Overall great experience! My face definitely felt refreshed and clean afterwards. The massage during the facial is also very relaxing.

I had a facial and eye treatment at the Sanctuary today and it was wonderful. It lasted for an hour and a half and the whole time she was working on my skin with cleansing, oils and masks. She was also doing massage on my arms, shoulders, neck and scalp. It was soooo relaxing and my face looked very fresh afterwards. I would definetly recommend this place to everyone.

I first went to The Sanctuary about a year ago, after being in China for two years and not taking proper care of my skin for those two year, you can imagine how my skin was!
The first they did when I went in, as to meet with me and talk about my skin routine and asked me, what I hoped for my skin to look like in the future.
Then the magic begun! At all times, I was wonderfully taken care of, the extraction was soo smooth that didn't even noticed.
By the time I got up from that super soft bed, I looked at my skin and it was glowing!
Now every few month I go back to get pampered!
It is extremely peaceful and relaxing! I highly recommend!

When I first came to Shanghai in 2013 a friend recommended I come here. It's 2018 and I'm still coming back when I can afford to treat myself. The service is consistently wonderful even after all of these years. The staff train for 600 hours before they began working with clients and it shows in everything they do. I can not count the places in Asia where the esthetician disappears for twenty minutes while a treatment sits on your face. Not here! Every second you're being worked on and pampered. They've mastered the massage and nothing is better than having your head and back taken care of while laying in the Rolls Royce of spa beds. It is a bit more expensive than Skin City 5.5 or Subconscious Day Spa, but you get what you pay for-- a skin consultation beforehand, communication with staff, and the fact that the facial never ends 5 minutes early are all key.

I love getting facial in whenever I travel to Asia. I have had many facials in my life. All of them are from high end places. However Sanctuary spa exceeded my expectation. I love the way they did my extraction. They didn't leave anything behind and was very thorough. And my face was not red after the extraction. When I looked into the mirror, I was so impressed. My face was so bright, and the pigmentation lightened up tremendously. I kept looking into the mirror whenever I had a chance. I wanted to show off my naked skin to everyone. I'm truly happy knowing that I won't be wearing make up on this trip. This is truly an amazing experience. I wish I lived in Shanghai so I come here for maintenance. Most travelers want to come back to a place probably due to the sceneries but for me, it is the sanctuary. Thank you Nora and her amazing team for their magic hands.

It’s a beautiful space that makes you feel relaxed immediately. The extraction is amazingly gentle and the therapist never leaves your side ever. One of the best I’ve had ever.

What a lovely, perfect spa. I had one of the best and most relaxing facials of my life -- excellent but largely pain-free extractions, a great neck and shoulder massage, and an experience so relaxing I almost fell asleep on the table. The pre-treatment consultation was in depth, and I felt like I received a treatment that was carefully selected for my skin, not the one they wanted to promote or upsell. Plus when work and Shanghai traffic made me an hour and a half late, they were responsive and accommodating and moved my appointment back without a problem. My skin is still soft and glowing. It's not a cheap facial, but you get your money's worth -- and it's so good that with just three weeks in town, I'm planning to go at least twice.
