Wow, what an experience. We traveled from downtown Shanghai to the airport a distance of approximately 45 km. In the course of the trip the Maglev train reached speeds of 424 kph yet the ride was astonishingly smooth. So simple too, just show up at the station buy your ticket and step on board and all for approximately $10. Great value for money as well as a uniquely exhilarating experience.

If you're not too pressed for time (ironic based on how fast this thing goes) then try out the Maglev train. Among the fastest in the world, it will get you about halfway from Shanghai airport to the central city in about 7 minutes. Grab a window seat and see what it would be like to go as fast as a jet...but on the ground! Not very expensive given the experience and you'll probably only do it once anyway!

For those who;ve never tried it, it is a nice experience to ride on air. Best if try and get a ride between 3-5 pm where the train does go to the max speed of around 430 km/h. Although more than 10 years old, the train is still technically working very well. A very good value combined Maglev+Metro pass ticket can be purchased at PVG.

This is the fastest train in the world. The only downside is that it is so smooth and quiet that you don;t feel like you are going as fast as you are! Maybe they should let you roll down the window! It's a bit pricey, but worth it. Apart from the novelty of riding the fastest train in the world, it's a great way to get to and from the airport.

This Maglev train only commute from Longyang Road Station to Shanghai Pudong International Airport, to and fro. Its speed is 300 km/h and takes about 10 minutes to arrive. Just enjoy the thrilling rides in high speed train.

We took a trip to Pudong airport on the Maglev train. It was super fast and needed only 7 mins to the airport from Longyang road station, a distance of around 30km (19 miles). It reached a top speed of 431km/hr and maintained that speed for only a couple of mins. This is the world's fastest commercial train. The ride was smooth and it was quite an enjoyable experience.

We had wanted to go on the fastest train in the world so had made sure this was in our itinerary. Unfortunately our flight from the airport didn't match with the time the train would go at it's fastest which was disappointing for us so we decided we would just have a ride on it anyway and get a taxi to the airport. It is just a 15 minute trip so we just caught the train, had a ride and stayed on and came back again. Just a thing to tick off your bucket list!

If you happen to be in Shanghai and you are found of speed, the you have to take the one of the fastest public transports on the planet. However, note that the Maglev does not operate the entire day at its maximum speed. We actually bought the tickets to travel over 400 km/hr, but we were disappointed that on our trip the max. speed was limited to about 350 km/h.

I was going to Shanghai to look for an apartment and when I saw that I could take the Maglev into the city I was really excited. That changed when I managed to board and saw how worn out it looked. Added to that was the fact that it didn't go as fast as it can - I think it topped out at 300 KmpH - the whole experience made me want more than ever to go on the Tokyo Maglev. It was indeed a lot faster and more convenient than the same journey using the Metro and I only have myself to blame for the excitement I felt beforehand but I didn't expect it to look so old and tatty.

Very good option for people who are in rush!8 minutes from Longyang road. Price is a bit higher - by metro it costs around 7rmb,maglev is around 47rmb. But very clean, comfortable, and nice experience !you don't have feeling that train is running 300-400 km/h🤪
