The scenery is beyond beautiful, you just paddle and enjoy what GOD has put before you. The other boaters (motor) give you the right of yaw so you do not have to worry about the wake from the speeding boats. it is a great way to spend the day

This was a lot of fun. It was a very peaceful and relaxing way to spend a Sunday. This portion of the trail was a little over 8 miles round trip. You can find maps for the Bartram Canoe trails on the ADCNR website. I tried to link the website here, but TripAdvisor flagged it as 'promotional material.' So you'll just have to find the maps on your own.

This a great experience for the outdoorsy type with your own canoeing and camping gear. The floating roofed platforms keep you clean and dry. Be sure and make a reservation for $20. The platforms are in remote parts of the Mobile/Tensaw Delta, where you won't be bothered by motorboat traffic. Bring a 2-4 person tent to keep mosquitos away, although bugs have not been bad for me. Jungle hammocks also work well. You cannot build a campfire, but your coleman stove and a lantern or flashlights are perfect. I've taken my 9-year-old daughter and she loves the wildlife. No, you probably will not see a gator since they are shy. No, they cannot get on the platforms, nor can snakes. I've fallen asleep with rain on the roof, or to the sound of owls calling through the delta. There is no place like it!
