We visited the centre for a half day tour and volunteering, we got to prepare the food and feed the animals. They treat the animals like family, you find out their names and personalities during the tour. Well worth it if you like wildlife.

We try to take our visitors to Asis Rescue. They continuously have new animals and have released many of the ones we saw previously. If you call ahead for a reservation you might be able to volunteer with them. I love seeing how the genetically...More

After a few days of hiking we were looking for a more relaxed activity for today. As a #1 recommendation in La Fortuna we thought this would be a slam dunk, wow, were we wrong. There were around twenty small cages of sad animals. I...More

Hi lcbigred, We respect your viewpoint and even appreciate it. We understand this activity might not be for everyone. People might get confused expected to find a huge facility with dozens of species. We have never pretended to be such place you might have expected...More

Best way to get up close & personal with the animals and birds. The work they do here is amazing, rehabilitating animals to go back into the wild. Make sure you book the volunteer experience so you can feed the animals.
