This is a great hike through some amazing cloud forest terrain. I read a lot of incorrect information on here so I'll set of the "myths" straight. I should note that we hiked the trail from the waterfall side. 1. It's not near as difficult...More

We booked this tour b/c I told my travel agent I wanted to see the volcano and the waterfall. She said the hike was intense, but not bad. My husband and I are both in good shape and work out 4-5 times a week. Had...More

It was better than we expected. A true adventure! We were in the jungle for 4 - 5 hours, then to the hot river plus so many other features. Not for the non-adventurer type. It would be a challenge if you aren't in good shape....More

This was a spectacular Waterfall in Volcano area. Walk 500 steps down in to canyon to see waterfall and went swimming, took pictures and had a lunch. The trip back up is again 500 steps and quite a climb. Plan for at least an hour...More

We climbed that path from the fortuna waterfall side. It starts steep and it gets worse! Steps, mud and climbing from root to root. I will never forget that experience. We were quick 3,5 h up and down... but we are sportive and now are...More

Longest hike of my life: 8 hours. I usually go on 1-2 hour hikes max in LA but this was a whole different ball game. I am relatively fit and athletic so I can handle it, but it was exhausting. However, it was such an...More

The trailhead says this is difficult and should take 2 hours total. The difficult bit is accurate, as this is more of a scramble than a trail. It is muddy in areas and you should watch what you grab onto for leverage (we came upon...More

I feel SO sorry for anyone that paid for a tour to this lake. First of all it is a HARD climb; steep, muddy. Some points you have to physically pull yourself up and all for... a lake, seriously it's a lake. Has nobody ever...More

A great (uphill) hike through the jungle! It is steep in places, but do-able for most. We hiked into the volcano and even took a swim in the lake. Unfortunately, it was cloudy and rainy that day, so we weren't able to enjoy the views--but...More

Our guides Augusto and Elesere from Arsenal Adventurs were fantastic! The hike is good hard work, and the rewards are fabulous: swimming in a crater lake, swimming in the waterfall pool, seeing a beautiful sunset at the Observatory Lodge, and laying in a thermal fed...More
