Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Orosi river valley is awesome to see and visit. We took a drive from Irazu through the valley on our way back to San José. The area is scenic and you get a real sense of being amongst locals. The best thing about our trip is avoiding the high priced day trips on offer. We would have paid over $100 for a trip barely worth $20if we had booked through a tour operator such as Grayline. Rather rent a car and drive yourself around.

The church is from the 1600s. It is simply beautiful as is the area in general. Few tourist, but worth the trip.

This is a beautiful valley to spend some time. Orosi town itself is a cute little town with a nice small church/museum to visit.

We arrived to this mirador recommended by someone at the basilica Los Angeles. We went out of curiosity and we were astonished. This is on of the most amazing views in Costa Rica. All locals go there for picnics and cook in stone barbecues. All the rivers areseen from here and the green valley could have been Mesopotamia. It is worthy to visit. Inside there is no beverages or food. You have to bring your own.

This volunteer trip through Globe Aware exceeded our expectations. We did not know how it would go with our kids - only 6 and 11, but we knew it was important they see how other people/cultures live and how important it is to give back. We wanted a meaningful vacation, and this was it. It was the most continuous physical hard work we have ever done, but we thoroughly enjoyed it because the Costa Rican people are so kind, and the country is so beautiful. We were immersed in the culture, with the local community, its families and their children. Local families cooked lunch and dinner for us, and welcomed us into their homes. We cleared an area for the school's new pre-school playground, and helped build a new community center. The house Globe Aware has for their volunteers is very nice, with gorgeous views over the Orosi Valley. Wonderful patios, and beautifully kept grounds with lots of room for children to play. (and peacocks!) Beds are comfortable and clean, bathrooms and showers are nice. Nice big kitchen for all to use. We were lucky to have another nice family with kids in our group, which helped keep our kids happy - so if you have younger children, it's nice to see if there are other families on the trip. We had a great day of touring local church and museum attractions, a tour of Paco's amazing farm, and another day with a hike to the river through the rainforest, and a visit to the hot springs - beautiful and private. Our fun and awesome guide, Federico, was very knowledgeable, kind, and patient. This trip was a wonderful and meaningful experience that had a positive impact on our entire family.

If you are interested to see where most of our fruit, veg ,coffee and chocolate originates , this is the trip for you. This was a wonderfully informative day, and of course you got to see how the Costa Ricans live and work. The Botanical Gardens was the high spot. Beautiful.

A truly beautiful valley that's almost hidden. A real change of pace and scenery after staying in the cloud forests and the Pacific coast.

Get out of the city and spend a day driving the loop around the Orosi valley. Great little restaurants, especially the one overlooking the football plaza in Orosi. Lots to do here - sightseeing, the Mirador, the green suspension bridge, Tapanti National Park, the balnearios (heated outdoor pools). Just don't come during Semana Santa - it is WAY too crowded, since everyone who doesn't go to the beach seems to end up here. And don't tell everyone to come here because we don't want it to be too crowded!
