Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Found this gorgeous beach after a long trek down a horrible road. Our little rental car made it but atv, truck or suv would be better. Not many people, clear water...loved it! Worth trying to get there.

Pretty nice spot! It is a place for locals, you don’t find crowds and the water is crystal clear! There is a hike trail that will lead you to a nice observatory and a second beach with unique views!

I found this beach doing my research for the trip and it did not disappoint us!. WAY off the beaten path, you will stumble upon this small beach with huge character. You can snorkel (won't see much but water is crystal clear) and play on the rocks at bit. Most likely if you get there early enough in the AM you will be the only one there. There was a family camping at the far end when we arrived and that was it. The beach did start to get crowded around 10:00am. It was the weekend, and all visitors looked local, so I would say that a week day trip from about 8:00am - 12:00 would be perfect. There are spots to park your car in the shade and places to set up in the shade also. The sand can get CRAZY hot so be careful. The only negative in this little paradise, was that the stupid Westin resorts ATV tour goes to this beach, they come barreling in on the bikes, make a bunch of noise, take a few pics, then leave. Few minutes of distraction, then its all your again.

While we had a wonderful time visiting this beach earlier this month, we were welcomed back to our rental vehicle with a broken glove box lock. We went for a 45 minute hike out to the point on the south side of this beach. While not immediately obvious, someone gained access into our vehicle by bending the front passenger door using a rod or "slim jim" device. They then broke the lock on our glove box door and removed cash and cell phones. Thankfully, they opted to leave all other wallet contents. Despite the remoteness of this beach, it is not exempt from petty theft. There were only 8-10 other people on the beach and none saw or heard this event. My recommendation is to take ALL OF YOUR VALUABLES WITH YOU.

This beach is a little out of the way but very quiet away from the crowds. Pay for parking $2Mil colons. Little shade. Nothing there but the beach.

Beautiful secluded beach at the end of a fairly long, rocky dirt road! For us it was easy to find, for Google Maps provided turn by turn directions. The trip was so worth the effort, for the sand was beautiful, the water divine, and there were a few trees you could sit under in the shade. Everything was so pristine and clean. I brought my wife and kids here looking for a different experience, and I’m so glad we did.

This was our favorite beach from our entire trip. Not crowded at all. Simply gorgous sand and gorgous water. Calm and protected. 30 min drive on a dirt road to get there, but well worth it! You could also camp there if you wanted to. You can drive to it from Playa Conchal or drive another way. Either way, you probably will want to 4 wheel drive for the dirt road.

If you're looking for a great beach away from the crowd, check out Playa Minas! Shade, soft sand and calm water. Mostly locals and even then, not a lot of people in this quiet bay.
Not far from Brasilito and easy enough to find. The beach road from Playa Conchal is the closest to access the dirt road that leads to Minas but that really does require a 4x4. A safer, if slightly longer route, is to get to Matapalo first, set your GPS for Hotel El Condor/Villas la Paz or check out Google maps. It's about 4 km from Matapalo on a dirt road where you turn left just after the entrance gates to the Hotel El Condor/Villas la Paz. One km or less up that road and you'll see the dirt road for Minas on your right. No signs, just keep a look out. The beach is at the end of that road. Enjoy!
Even nicer ... IMHO ..... keep going straight past the road for Minas a few kms and it ends at Bahia de Los Piratas. Truly magical beach with tidal pools on the left, calm sandy bay in the center and a very long stretch of golden sand to the right with waves and a pirate rock (with flag) ahead! It's really 3 different beaches and you can walk around the rocks on either side of the wide bay to access a couple more. Well worth exploring!

Off a dirt road down unmarked road lies Playa Minas. Wonderful for swimming, a picnic or a beach walk.
There are no amenities here so bring your own and lots of water if your spending the day. There are trees for shade and you can easily SUP or kayak here.
