It is an adequate beach, not powdery-soft sand, neither rocky. Cannot actually see the sun drowning into the water but nice afterglow. Family friendly. Swim n surf gentle waves.

The beach itself is not that great. Sand is grayish and mixed with mud. The island is fun and people in the area were great but other nearby beaches are better- Carrillo, Barrigona.

My wife and I stayed at local Casitas that were right across from Samara Beach. Beautiful views, large beach, water was calm, very relaxing and good for swimming, beautiful sunsets! Really enjoyed our time here.

Fantastic quiet beach. Beautiful view. No snorkeling - sadly waves churn up the sand and you can't see anything in the water. Trying boogie board tomorrow. Wish I had brought a pool noodle - cd not find any in Samara.

We traveled down from Los Progos for the day via the main roads, took about an hour and a half. The beach is huge and restaurants are better priced than further north and the food it exactly the same! We place ourselves in a resturant on some comfy chairs, drank, ate and read our books. The shops are better too.... More

We loved staying here. One really nice thing was the amount of shady spots to hang out. Some beaches are just full sun, and hard to tolerate.
