Skip your dessert at dinner time and go here for it. We did the Rum tasting which was 3 rums (various ages) paired with local chocolates. Was blown away by one with Tarragon which we have never had before - pair it with the rum and it was a great surprise. Very cool retail outlet with knowledgeable staff supporting local chocolate farmers.

Wonderful local chocolate and coffee shop with rum, wine or beer pairings as an option. Martin gave us very detailed explanation of all the chocolate. We got a chocolate flight, which included around 20 pieces of chocolate from about 10 local producers. One producer is even right down the street — doesn’t get more local than that. We also tried three different rums from Centenario distillery — local Costa Rican rum producer. Absolutely delicious. You can also buy chocolate bars from the producers to take home, as well as shirts and other souvenirs. Highly recommend checking them out.

I just loved the place since I passed by on my first day in the area and I really wanted to check it out.

The staff is super friendly and well prepared, making you feel welcomed and looked after.
We tried the chocolate pairing with wine and it was one of the best experiences in Costa Rica. I also appreciate a lot the fact that they support the local chocolate producers.

They have wine, beer and rum paired with chocolates, but also a wide selection of chocolate bars that you can purchase.

If you’re planning a chill night, alone or with your loved one/s, this is a great place.

We discovered this place when googling gay Puerto Viejo as the its owned by a Canadian gay couple. We decided to go as wanted to explore different things to do in the area. It’s a beautiful chocolate boutique bringing together the chocolate from the various local farms. We did the rum and the wine pairings which means you get 3 tastings. Clarence who looked after us was amazing, good chat and really made the experience as we got to learn about local and Costa Rican living.

I am giving 4* as for 6 tiny pieces of chocolate and a three very small servings of drinks. We paid c.$40 which feels pricey when you can buy the whole chocolate for $2 in the caribeans farm down the road or from the local supermarket. If the drink portions were bigger and they gave 4 pieces or so per servings. It would probably make it worth it.

Great idea overall.

Thank you very much for your review Tamoor. We are really happy that you liked your experience! We can understand that paying around 20$ for 3 x 2.5 oz. of wine and 6 pieces of chocolate can appear pricy. But this is more than just eating chocolate, you pay for the whole chocolate experience! Finding the perfect combination between the chocolate and the alcool is not an easy task and our team spent a lot of time and effort coming up with the menu. You are also having an experience in a nice cozy place with AC, which is rare in Puerto Viejo. You can indeed find some of our chocolates at a lower price if you buy them directly with the chocolate makers. We didn't ask the chocolate producers to lower their prices for us because we wanted to ensure that everyone in the chain gets a fair price/salary, from the cacao farmer to the person wrapping each bar by hand. It is also important for us to offer an excellent customer service, and we're happy to see that you experienced it! To attract and retain such amazing talents, we pay our employees with a decent salary, health care and insurance. We hope these few explanations can help you better understand our prices. If ever you are still in Puerto Viejo, we would be pleased to offer you a glass of wine on the house! Just stop by, our team will be happy to see you again! Sincerely, Martin and Nelson

Me and three friends went in by accident in truth and we didn’t realise they did wine and chocolate tastings. I personally went for the beer option which was four beers and four chocolates for about $16. I really enjoyed it and my favourite beer was the 9.2% stout.

If you're looking for the most amazing, locally produced artisan chocolate, you will find it here. It's like an art gallery for chocolate, complete with pairings with local wine and rum. We sampled a few varieties--very cool to read about the farmers and support their work here. Plus, it's yummy.

We had the best time with these tastings. The chocolate was amazing and the wine as well. The young lady who works there is truly well informed of the chocolate industry and taught us so much. Thank you!
