- pam p10 contributionsMiro Mountain Hike and Puddle Fish BreweryWe took an Uber from the Los Sueños Marriott to the Puddle Fish Brewery. The Uber was $10 each way for the four of us. The hike up was steep at points but was not too bad, about an hour round trip. It was quite hot in the afternoon when we went, glad we had water. The hike was well worth the views both along the way and at the abandoned structure. After the hike we went across the street for some cold beer. Both beer and food were great at Puddle Fish!Visited February 2024Travelled as a coupleWritten 3 March 2024

We had gone to the beach the evening before. We decided rto adventure up to El Miro, it took us about 20mins to walk up.. I didn't find the hike that bad. There is shade and the views are beautiful. There were around 10 people there when we made it up but everyone kept to themselves. We hiked down in the dark and even had a wild pecary pig come out of the bush at us!Visited April 2024Travelled with friendsWritten 15 April 2024
- Trail126537983213 contributionsA beautiful hikeI rode my bike from Room2rent Hostle to the entrance leading to El Miro. I enjoyed the hike up the trail on a beautiful sunny day. The views were amazing overlooking Jaco and the Pacific Ocean. I could only imagine what it must have been like in its hey day.Visited June 2024Travelled soloWritten 30 June 2024

Awesome hike and fantastic views. Make sure you wear tennis shoes!! Not an easy trek up in flip flops. Stay left on the trails- two lookout points on your way up to the top. Would recommend this if you want some good pictures and to see some really cool street art. You can also bike this trail.

We had read about El Miro before we came to Costa Rica and so headed off to find the entrance to the trail.
It was a hotel that was being built but was never finished. Now there is amazing graffiti on almost all the walls. There are lots of rooms to explore and it is two stories.
And then there is the view!
Which is the next best reason to make the trek. It allows you to see all of Jacó beach from a high up advantage.
So between the view and all the amazing artwork in the form of graffiti, and the fact that it was free makes it a win, win!
Just take lots of water!

Very interesting place to visit. The views are outstanding! It's a bit of an odd place... to see where somebody started to spend a lot of money and then just... walked away. Some of the graffiti is truly art. Some is just graffiti. The walk up there is best done before the heat of the day!

It shows a nice view of Jaco from the top. You need to be prepared to have a 10-15 walk up to the hill and through the property. It is and old construction left aside where you can take interesting pictures. Cars can’t go through the property, you need you leave it in the main entrance (you will see when you get there).

Park off the road in a small lot for $10USD. Dirt road walk up a rutted washed out hill with some nice views of the sea. Cool murals at top third of trail on wall. Bear left onto trail at top and you’ll walk to a vacant abandoned looking shell of a building covered in cool art. Great views. It can be slippery. Saw a few capuchins. None of the promised toucans. No tourists, just locals.

This is the best free thing you will ever do in Jaco area. The day before I paid 110.00 US to visit Manual António National Park and I was more impressed with Miro Mountain by far. Beautiful look out over Jaco Beach, wildlife on the trek up the Mountain. Wear good shoes, take cold water with you and enjoy the walk for FREE! I took an Uber from Jaco for about 3US dollars. After the hike up and down I ate at Miros right at the entrance. I was pleasantly impressed. Food was so good and very affordable. Tastey smoothies and their French fries fresh cut and the best I’ve ever had in all my travels. A true hidden gem.

Wonderful short hike up to a fantastic viewpoint with lots of fun art. Entire trip took about an hour, including a stop for lots of photos. Numerous animals were spotted, including monkeys, frogs, and iguanas. Great activity to do in the morning before the heat of the day or a stunning sunset view but if sure to bring a flashlight for the trip down. This is a perfect hike on the edge of town, easily accessible and interesting to people of all ages. Do not follow Google maps to the trail head. You will end up on the side of a road in Costa Rica with no trail entrance insight. (Don’t ask how I know) Go to the restaurant across from the gas station. Follow the driveway with the signs heading up.

Entrance hard to find- Just south of Jaco there is a Petrol station. There are 4-5 parking spaces across the street from it. Then walk south next to restaurant for the trailhead. The painted concrete wall on the way to the ruins is beautiful. We also saw a toucan in the tree on the way down. The ruins is interesting with the spiral staircases. The view at the ruins of the beach and Jaco is awesome!
