Pura Vida Gardens and Waterfalls is unique in Costa Rica. It is truly a "Visual Masterpiece". The gardens begin with the natural beauty of Costa Rica and four waterfalls in the property with spectacular views of the Pacific Ocean. To this millions of plants, flowers and orchids from all over the world have been added. Manicured walkways meander long a river and at the crest of the mountain which make the entire 50 acre gardens accessible to all. Have lunch in our restaurant and browse the gift shop that offers authentic Costa Rica gifts.

On a warm domingo, this was a beautiful Vista and challenging. We were less than a dozen feet from a toucan eating palm fruit. Unbelievable. The tica hostess was very gracious and helpful. Anticipate a rough ride up the mountain, need a 4 wheel drive and the paths can be a challenge too but absolutamente worth it!

Dianna, Thanks for the nice review. The government is trying to fix the road but things go slow here in Costa Rica. I'm glad you had a good tour. David and Cindy More

You must have a car to get there, there is no public transportation. It is also quite expensive ($20 pp). But the gardens and views were outstanding. There are also quite a number of stairs and hills you have to navigate.

Thank you for your review. The only parks in Costa Rica that are cheaper are the National parks and there if you take a guide it will cost an additional $20.00 p/p. Anyway, I'm sorry you thoght it too expensive. I hope you didn't mistake the waterfall view portion of the gaedens for the whole gardens. The waterfall view is... More

We visited the gardens on a tour organized by Holland America Cruise Line so we paid quite a bit more than the $20 that some reviewers were complaining about, but this included our transportation from the port. Unfortunately I don't remember what tour company they used but I do remember that the bus driver, Alan, had exceptional driving skills and... More

Wendy, Thanks for your review. $20.00 is a very resonable price to see the gardens. The Cruise ships, of course charge more because they do include transportation and a guide. ( and a friendly bus driver) I'm glad you did have a nice time and I hope our paths cross again in the future. David Stannard PS: email me the... More

We always enjoy visiting Pura Vida Gardens and have for over 8 years now. We love bringing our friends and family here when they are in country visiting us. It is so easy to walk around, well cared for and manicured and just a fun excursion. I love that the trees and plants are labeled so I can learn about... More

While the grounds are admittedly pretty and well kept this is absolutely a sham by the American owner who is more than eager to invite you in at $20 USD a head to walk a paved path around his property while he queues you up to spend more for food and souvenirs. You will be told there are two waterfalls,... More

Steve, You are the guy who wanted lunch but wanted to walk the gardens first, then you said "Is lunch included the the $20,00" LOL I refunded you and your group 25% and then you didn't have lunch. Good thing we get started too far on your lunch. The tallest waterfall in all of Costa Rica can be seen about... More

Me and my family stopped here to see the waterfalls. 20 dollars a person is very steep for what you get. It's about a 10 minute walk to see the "waterfall" which is extremely far away and had honestly poor view. The gardens were very nice and maintained though which you could walk through but included overly aggressive hills, they... More

ryandavus, Thank you for the nice review even though you thought it was overpriced. You were told when you entered the gardens that this was a 50 acre Botanical Gardens where you could SEE the water falls. Next time the entrance fee is on me. David More

We took this excursion in Costa Rica because I love nature, its flowers and waterfalls. This is a private little park very attractive. Lots of exotic flowers, a small waterfall we could see from the distance and some birds unique like tucans. We walked around the park admiring the beautiful settings, very well kept. Took lots of pictures. Afterwards we... More
