We walked the beach a couple of times. And came down twice to see the sunsets which are gorgeous. The sun sets very quickly so make sure you get there on time.

I've visited Jaco a lot in the last 20 years. IMHO, the beach is the best part of this little town. The temperature doesn't vary much, and usually a lot of sunshine and warm pacific waters. It can get wet during the rainy season, but that's life in Costa Rica in late summer and autumn. The beach stretches for about... More

Be sure to walk from one end to the other to see all the different types of sand. At one end the sand is powder soft and smooth, then halfway down there are two different cold water rivers that rush in and meet the ocean (see my photos, I've never seen anything like it before!) then when you reach the... Jaco beach itself is very beautiful. Swimming here is fun, as there are a few waves - great for surfing! You can walk for a pretty good distance and end up in the downtown core. Great for lunch, beers, or to pick up a few groceries/souvenirs. Our hotel was just a $5.00 cab ride away. We also enjoyed going into... More

My son had fun boogie boarding. The waves are just right and no jellyfish to worry about like in the States.

We drove into town on our way back from Uvita going back to San Jose. The town itself is very busy and touristic, a lot of buses parked after dropping the beach visitors, quite a few alleys and streets from the main town centre toward the beach. The town has many restaurants, souvenir shops, beach accessories and snack spots. The... More

Jaco Beach is commonly referred to as "the tourist beach." However, we recently stayed in a condo overlooking this gorgeous beach and found it wasn't crowded at all. The beach was great for walking as the tide goes out very far and the sand is very firm (firm enough to bike on). The sunsets were gorgeous as well. The beach... More

Jaco is a fabulous place to visit. We booked our accommodations and tours through Lost Beach and had a stress free and wonderful vacation. Lost Beach set up transportation to pick us up at the airport and he had a sign with my name, so it made it easy for us. We stayed at The Palms Condo which is right... More

Do not let the color of the sand judge its appearance of 'looking' dirty. Jaco Beach is a beautiful and expansive beach. Mucho las brisas! The waves are stupendous and it's fun to watch the surfers. Go to the beach area close to and north of the yellow high rise (the apartel) and and rent a beach lounge chair and... More
