Excellent place to rent kayaks and camp
Aug 2019
The owners and staff are amazing. You rent the kayak from them, they'll outfit you in a life vest, load the kayak and they'll take you up the river to the "put in". Once you've paddled down the river through the whitewater, you arrive back at their place the "take out". They take care of getting the kayaks in and out of the water. The campgrounds are beautiful and well kept. They have some essentials in their store and clothing. There is also 2 restrooms with showers. You can make a day trip of it or spend the weekend with nature. Make sure you take a water bottle for the kayaking trip. Some of the kayaks have a place to store a small cooler, so if you intend to take a cooler on the water, make sure to ask for a kayak that will accommodate. Take a change of clothes, dry bag for on the water and wear water shoes!!

Nice Spot For Sure
Apr 2016 • Friends
A small group of guys did some boat training along the Coosa River and used this location as a launch point for our boats. When not on the river we spent a little time at the park and even on the trails etc. that the park had and coupled with great weather and a falling sun this spot was a perfect backdrop to relax and unwind after being on the river all day. Was quiet and with as many people that were there was surprised that you could even feel alone as you walked along the tree lined trails. Looked to be a popular spot for tree hammocks and people looking to enjoy a great day at the park. Restrooms were clean and accessible and they have a DQ close but if you want to have ice cream. Nice park with good views of the river and river bridge

So welcoming and helpful!!

Came here for a meetup kayaking event. Lonnie the owner was so nice on the phone. Big open areas to camp with tables and grills...no hookups/electrical. The is a very clean and nice bathhouse near the store and rental area. Did not rent gear but there was plenty of it in the storage barns. The shuttle service to the river was easy and young men there to help and tie down boats. The Coosa river is great for beginner boaters with a couple class two rapids that are straightforward and easy recovery. The river take out is right at the outfitters! The weekend we were there was end of season party and the entertainment and hospitality was great!

Do The Coosa and Camp
Oct 2014 • Family
We stumbled upon Coosa Outdoor Center by word of mouth from friends in Auburn. The staff is so friendly and accommodating! The Coosa River is about 7 miles long with a few Class II and Class III rapids, with lots of wild life, rocks that you can jump off of into the river, and if you look hard enough you can find white arrowheads! You park at the shop and they drive you up just below the Jordan Dam and then float back down to their property. They have acres and acres of land for camping and picnicking, with outdoor grills, picnic tables, a massive tree house with electricity and fans, showers, bathrooms, and a shop with everything you could possibly need in the outdoors. There's even a volleyball net! We spent the weekend and thoroughly enjoyed our visit. We will be back!
