Four couples were making an Alaskan adventure and the guys "surprised" our wives with Paint A Scarf. It is truly a unique and wonderful experience. Gina is more than a talented artist, she and her family are genuine hosts. You're actually painting at their house, which is located along on a picturesque creek. Painting is done inside or on the back deck or by the creek, all depending on weather. The price gave the ladies a choice of several easy-to-paint silk scarf designs, and for $20 additional they painted a second scarf. Gina and David also prepared tasty treats such as muffins and dips to nibble on (the guys even got to partake). The experience was about 3 hours by the time we left, and the scarves were not totally dry yet. We had a dinner engagement that evening, so Gina let them dry longer and allowed us to come by two days later to pick up the scarves. While the ladies painted scarves, the guys went to nearby Eagle River where there are restaurants and other activities. Overall, it was a 5-star experience with a unique Alaskan keepsake.

If you're looking for something unique and incredible to do in Alaska, try Paint a Scarf! Managed by a wonderful couple, this experience takes place in a lovely log cabin-style home in Chugiak. Gina (the hostess) is herself an artist of good taste; her skills and knowledge come in handy as she shows you all the ins and outs of creating your own silk masterpiece. If you've never painted a scarf, don't worry -- you can't mess it up. But you can choose between the easier dry style of painting if you are not quite ready for the more advanced wet style. On a beautiful day, you will find yourself painting on the patio deck and stealing glances at the property's creek; sipping on some tea and eating a home-baked cookie while your scarf dries; swinging on a hammock; or picking raspberries. The person whom I took to this event lives in Alaska, and she had no clue that you can paint a scarf. The afternoon ended up being one of her favorite activities in a state known for its fishing, hiking and plenty of other nature activities. Don't miss Paint a Scarf the next time you're in or around Anchorage. It's worth a visit for anyone looking to have the best time and make a worthwhile memory.

Not even sure I can express on how wonderful this was. Most unique painting class I have ever taken... truly an "experience ". Gina is the nicest, most helpful and creative person that opens up her home to share this experience surrounded by the beauty of her property, creek, flowers, deck.... I could go on and on. I believe she does classes off site but I can not tell you how glad I was we booked it here instead. Come ready to relax, unwind, have some delicious snacks and create something magical to keep for yourself or give as the most personal and thoughtful gift you could give a person. Hope to come back to experience this all over again in the future!
