We didn't make it to the garden because about 200 meters up the hill, our car slid off the road into an eroded area next to the concrete track. Even worse, the middle of the car came to rest on a large stone so that we couldn't move forward or backwards. We had to jack the car up, dig around... More

The views are as the photos show. Not as great but still quite nice, but thats possibly the only nice part to our experience. Mosquitoes are phenomenally bad up there. They speak no English. The fruit they served us was quite clearly off. Juice was made off same fruit. (Currently listening to wifey unloading stomach contents within 45 mins of... More

We stopped by whilst on a safari tour and we were not disappointed, even though it was raining, as it is up a hill, and gets plenty of rain during the wet season. The fresh pineapple juice was outstanding, and squeezed in front of us while we waited. We did jam tasting, which you could buy if you wished, but... More

This site is a welcome relief from the heat as it is high on a hillside which also provides for great lagoon views while you sip away on a fresh juice and sample locally made jams. Also on offer (for tasting and/or purchase) are fresh and dried fruits, exotically flavoured ice creams and, of course, vanilla. For the flower lovers... More

This is a great little place to visit while circling the island. (Some tours also come here.) Great view. There's a stand selling great juices and jams. Lots of tropical plants but highlight is the vanilla tent. We were hoping for an explanation of how vanilla is grown but that wasn't available, but did see the beans growing. (It's an... More

I've been in Moorea tropical graden twice and each time I spend a very nice moment, I discovered many fruts that I've never tried and learn a bit more the polynesian culture thank's to the owners. It is a lovely place where you can find the best of polynesian food and drink fresh smoothies in front of a beautiful landscape.... More

We rented a scooter to drive around the island & our first stop was the tropical garden, which is situated on a very steep, narrow road on the top of the hill. We couldn't make it up even a 3rd of the way on the scooter, so we had to leave it behind & hiked up the rest. I would... More

We stopped here on our tour with Franky Frank. Steep, narrow, bumpy ride up. Don't think I'd attempt it in a rental personally. Yummy jams sold here along with assortment of souvenirs and vanilla beans. The garden was small and view was pretty, mouth nothing like Magic Mountain views.

We visited here on the tour with FrankyFrank, it was a lovely place, we did some marmalade tasting and learnt how vanilla is grown. They also made me a drink as I was feeling unwell. Very kind people and a beautiful place to visit.

We have to echo comments by others. We turned off the main road onto an extremely bumpy unpaved road for a few hundred yards. We then started up a steep hill that had two concrete paths. It was barely wide enough for our rental car which struggled to climb the hill. Once on top, the views are great as are... More
