Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

So beautiful! We did not do much except to take pictures while on the bus tour but it was memorable. It was drizzling but it did not dampen our spirit with such sights in front of us.

During our week in Mo'orea, we drove by the bay several times and was awe inspired of its view from Belvedere Lookout.

Opunohu Bay is beautiful. The day we were visiting was overcast however in the afternoon started to clear. However it didn't overshadow the beautiful reefs. The scenery is breathtaking. We hopped off in shallow water to spend the day on a Motu Islet beach . My husband snorkelled and I sat in the shallow water while a stingray casually swam next to me!
This beautiful place was one of our highlights of our trip. Very untouched and photos still don't do justice. Definitely Worth Visiting.

This place really is paradise on earth, you can say off the beat and track as I came from Dubai. I flew to Los Angeles, I recommend a stopover to breakup the trip and stretch the legs. Then you can catch a flight to Papeete and then catch a ship to Cooks Bay.

You can also catch a short flight from Tahiti and that takes about 10 minutes.

The locals are very friendly and do speak English, however French is more widely spoken. You will see a shallow lagoon surrounded by stunning mountains where waterfalls flow down the cliffs.

It's one of the most beautiful Islands in the world.

We stayed on Opunoho Bay for two weeks. During our stay, we spend a lot of time in Cooks Bay. We found both bays to be stunning with steep mountain peaks. If we had to choose, Opunoho Bay was the most stunning. Opunoho doesn't have any places to eat or shop (except one snack place that was never open). Cooks Bay is loaded with a lot of eating places and the most shops, including several small groceries and a gas station. There's also several ATMs (not near the cruise ship dock) We also spent a week on the windstar. Where the ships dock in cooks bay has a couple of stores and places to eat. The local venders at the cruise dock are an excellent place to buy inexpensive pearl jewelry. These venders are jewelry artist that either don't have shops or their shop is located too far from the ships dock.

Cook's Bay on Moorea, Fr. Polynesia, has the greatest views on the island of Moorea without a doubt. The water in the bay is great for swimming & clear for snorkelling, though you should wear water socks as the coral can be quite sharp. If you are looking for a spot with a view on Moorea, there is nowhere better than Cook's Bay. Also, there are a number of good restaurants available & a couple of decent grocery stores.

Basically a lagoon or bay with views of mountain ranges, ok for a quick photo op, but in my opinion not much else to look at.

Interesting that this bay was not actually visited by Capt. Cook. Beautiful, nonetheless. Nice public beach with many palm trees. Not far from the Hilton Moorea or the Intercontinental.

There was no listing for Opunohu Bay so I placed it here. Opunohu Bay is the bay adjacent to Cooks Bay on the north coast of Moorea. With us being sailors we much preferred Opunohu Bay. It was very calm with beautiful mountains and spectacular sunrises. It was easy to find an anchor spot and the island was easily accessible with our dinghy. It was the base for snorkeling, fishing and of course and island tour

It's a beautiful island, some say more beautiful than Bora Bora.
We went for a 2 hour tour with an amazing driver who is Mexico but has moved there with his Tahitian wife.
The fruits look good and the juice factory is a must visit to see what they do with the fruits.
The passion fruit and ginger sorbet is to die for.
The wildest animals according to the locals are wild chicken.

The chilled fresh coconut water by the side of the road is a must have
