Great place to learn about glaciers. This is a beautiful facility and definitely worth a visit. Glacial ice can often be collected along the shore near the Visitor Center. Bring Vodka, and mix your own cocktail with thousand year old glacial ice.

This visitor center near Portage Glacier is perfect for a pit stop and to gather local information. I inquired about the hike to Byron Glacier, and the staff were very helpful and informative.
