My son, his wife, my daughter, her husband (a wildlife biologist specializing in bears) & I took Alaska Bear Adventures 6 hr. tour. It was expensive, but worth the cost. We flew to the Katmi peninsula. During our time there we saw 30+ grizzlies. 13 at one time. Many were at 25 to 50 yards distance. You do need to... More

I have travelled throughout the world and there are very few times when I am literally speechless. A little history first. I hoped to get lodging at Brooks Falls so I could photograph the bears at the falls. Even though I called 6 months in advance they were sold out. I was really bummer about coming to Alaska and not... A photog buddy and I were able to book a last minute trip to view bears on Aug. 15th . Staff very professional . Rear seating a little tight (Cessna 206) for people with bad knees, Joe, our pilot, Derek our bear group guide. Just great. Lucky to have three bears come close to us at the end or it... More

K Bay Air is professional from the first phone call to make inquiry. They put safety first and it shows. Despite the same plane and the landing of said small plane on a small beach, I was never nervous. Our pilot spotted bears and put the plane down within 100 yards of them. Everything K Bay Air told us about... More

We flew in 3 planes over the Cook Inlet from Homer and landed on a beach in Katmei park. From there we walked in close single file about 100 yes to a stream that was perhaps 30 yes across and we sat down in a tight formation about 40 FEET from the stream. And then they came. First a mother... More

This trip was worth every penny of the $700 per person! We had a crystal clear day and saw inside the caldera of two volcanoes on the flight back and spent the days walking in the river with brown bears! Michael and Joey were great guides and we saw three beautiful bears and hiked all over! So fun! Do it!

A lot about this tour is based on good luck, the weather, if the bears are going to be out or not and our luck was perfect the day we took the tour. Derek, the guide/pilot was very personable and knowledgeable. You can tell he enjoys what he does and that makes a big difference. We saw many bears, without... More

We were extremely excited about this adventure and we weren't disappointed! The pilots/guides were very knowledgeable and great fun! We saw lots of bears and thoroughly enjoyed being in an isolated beach watching wildlife. The flight itself was also beautiful. Worth the money! The pilots also took great pictures and gave us access to all of them!

We booked this tour in May and spoke with Elena. She gave us good information on what to expect. I told her that my wife has a medical condition which effected her mobility. She offered an alternative to the "group" tour that normally occurs. Elena sold me on going forward with a private tour. My expectations before leaving on the... More
