Took this kayak trip on September 6. Rick made sure we had everything we needed and gave great instructions. We spent several hours on the water and saw whales, otters, amazing jellyfish, eagles and porpoise. The lunch stop where Rick makes his stew using beach plants was delicious. If you are in Homer, make this a Must Do!

My kayak trip with A seaside Adveture was wonderful Rick and Dorle were knowledgable and fun guides. The pace was super easy going ... Giving each guest time to take in the surroundings. We saw Eagles, otters, a seal, many ducks/birds, and porpoises! The lunch provided was delicious and I learned about edible plants right here in my back yard.... More

We were greeted on the beach by Rick & Dorla upon disembarking from the water taxi landing craft on the beach where kayaks were stored in front of their home and near our cabin that we'd be overnighting in. We were immediately given rubber boots to walk through the damp trails with and wear for the next morning's kayak adventure.... More

Rick and Dorla know the area very well and were able to locate sea wildlife for us to see. The trip was nicely paced, not too strenuous for relatively inexperienced kayakers. Lunch was delicious. The downside: I was paired in a kayak with one of their employees on her last day with them. She seemed to have her mind elsewhere.... More

Enjoyed a full day of kayak and then an overnight at a cabin. Next day went for a day hike. Highly recommend. Informative, friendly, and intimate. The island is beautiful and inviting-lush, you can walk around and not get lost.

We had an amazing day out on the bay. Our tour guide, the oldest and most experienced guide, Rick, was great. He really knew his stuff and made the trip a real personal view of the bay. He knew it all, what seals and otters were around, how old the eaglets were, and how to spot the whales by watching... More

After falling in love with Dorla and Rick's island two years ago, we brought our 13-year-old grandson here for three nights, staying in one of their cabins surrounded by the water and huge trees. On the all-day kayak the next day, we saw lots of otters and eagles, harvested kelp to add to the salmon chowder for lunch, discovered herbs... More

Rick & Dorla really know their stuff, but if you do, also, you're paying a lot and somewhat limited. I doubt we even did an hour's worth of good paddling. And, in August, besides the anemones, starfish & jellies, we saw 1 whale spouting, not close, 3-5 sea otters (best view was from the town dock at Homer Spit--free!), Eagles,... More

My husband and I had a wonderful time with Rick, Dorla and two other couples exploring the waters around Tutka Bay. I can't really improve on the other reviews, but just want to echo their delight and say thanks to Rick and Dorla for a lovely day on the water.
