For some of the best halibut, salmon, lingcod and rockfish fishing in Alaska it's hard to beat Homer as a destination. I cater to groups of 2, 3 or 4 people and won't fill your boat with people you don't know like other charter operators do. I'll tailor your day to what sort of fishing you want to do whether it's a single species you'd like to target, or multiple species all in one day. I DO NOT charge a multi-species charge like all the other charter operators do. So come join Penny (my furry, faithful fishing companion) and me for a day of fishing you won't ever forget.

I just thought I'd post this b/c I don't see anyone mentioning this anywhere. We had a wonderful time with Dave and Penny a few years ago. RIP, Dave.

Fishing with Dave and the "First Mate" Penny, was a highlight of my Alaskan experience. The boat was comfortable and very easy to fish from. Dave's equipment was a little lighter so you could feel the fish bite. On the previous day I went on...More

I found muttley crew to be an excellent value. Capt Dave and Penny were awesome to spend the day with! The boat is in more than reasonable condition and was not what one person had mentioned. I have fished a lot of places and have...More

Thanks Nate. LOL! I will be the FIRST to admit my boat is certainly not "spit shined" or anything close to that. But I LOVE what I do and I absolutely LOVE to get people onto fish and I just hope that makes up for...More

I've been to a number of fishing charters in the past in different parts of the world, and AK is definitely one of the most expensive places to indulge in my hobby. We researched charters in both Seward and Homer, and I would say that...More

Howard, taking you two out the other day was an absolute pleasure. People like you two make my "job" enjoyable. So thank you for the kind words. I'm not quite sure what you mean by wanting to have gone after the "bigger halibuts for fun"...More

Dave & 1st mate Penny are a rare breed. Dave will fish till you say it's over. Penny will let you know , when there is a sea otter around. We had a great time . We caught halibut . We had plenty on fish...More

Thanks "1justfishin". Yes, Penny certainly is my little sea otter alarm. Those things will just track you down and take over the boat if you're not careful, and Penny does her best to make sure that doesn't happen. LOL! We did get some decent halibut...More

We spent over 10 hours on the water with Capt Dave and Penny and we had a blast! Dave will fish until you cry uncle unlike other boats that operate on a strict timer. He put us on halibut quickly but wasn't afraid to try...More

And you can see those kings in my pictures! There's nothing like getting a nice limit of halibut and then topping it off with kings. So, thanks, Gene. Hopefully I can get you some lings and yelloweye later this summer. And if the silvers decide...More

Let's face it... in Homer, Alaska you have hundred's of choices when it comes to fishing charters. My wife and I went on a full day of fishing with Dave for one reason and that was because he was flexible. My wife was very concerned...More

As I've said in other responses, "flexibility" is one thing I try my hardest to provide for my clients. I'm not happy unless the people I take out fishing are happy with their day of fishing and being able to move to calmer waters is...More

MuttleyCrewFish, Owner at Muttley Crew Fishing Adventures, responded to this reviewResponded 8 June 2013

The "flexibility" my smaller boat provides is part of the reason I do what I do. Larger charter boats burn more gas than my boat does which equates to not being able to try as many varied locations as I tend to do if one...More
