what a great time - we saw whales on the trip out, felt safe after the orientation and safety talk, good gear provided. Never felt rushed - plenty of time to explore the intertidal waters, good historical and geological information provided...thanks!

I had a great time with True North Adventures! The guides were super nice and very knowledgeable. We even got to see a whale while we were paddling around!

In August 2016, we did a Full-Day of sea kayaking with True North. We had a wonderful time paddling around the full perimeter of Yukon Island. We saw numerous bald eagles, sea otters, and even a whale spout in the distance. Our guide was very knowledgeable of the various plants, birds, and other local critters. We had a great time... More

Our guides, Shannon and Amber, made this the most enjoyable day of our five day stay in Homer. Amber knew so much about the history and the geology of the area. Plus, we got to kayak past bald eagles and sea otters. Being a bit of a science-dork myself, I was very impressed and very happy. It was a calm... More

My boyfriend and I went sea kayaking with True North for a half-day trip around Yukon Island and we could not have been more jazzed about the experience. Even though it was a very last minute booking, they accommodated us with ease. Trish was our guide and she was AMAZING! Obviously she has a deep passion for what she does... More

Our Bay Avenue B&B proprietor booked us with True North to get across the bay for a hike and we asked if we could see some puffins and sea otters on the way over. The driver was very helpful, taking us to an island with tons of birds and even taking us around the island so we weren't shooting photos... More

We had a great time out last Friday afternoon. We saw Eagles, otters and seals. We were out at low tide with the tide coming in. There was a group of 8 of us, with two guides. You could sea kayak solo or tandem. Our bear viewing had been cancelled, so we decided to give this a try. It was... More

We were scheduled to do a half day afternoon kayak, and ended up being late driving from seward. The staff were very accommodating and offered for us to go on a tour the next morning even though they didn't have anyone else scheduled for that morning at the time. Our guide, Paul, was extremely knowledgeable and friendly. We saw a... More

The single best excursion of my parents (60's) and my 10 day trip to Alaska. Other than the beautiful Alaskan coast, we saw tons of wildlife: sea otters, jelly fish, countless bald eagles (at one point I was able to see 5 flying at varying distances), and we even had a humpback whale spout 10 yards away from our kayaks!... We did the 3/4-day trip to Elephant Rock last week. Shannon, our guide, was great--she explained kayak handling and safety clearly and was able to tell us a lot about the wildlife and the geology of the area. I'd never been sea kayaking before, so was a little nervous about this trip, but it turns out all I needed was... More
