Captain Duane was great. Got us close to the whales but at a respectable distance. He worked hard to find as many whales as possible. Boat was clean and comfortable and had great viewing. Loved that it was a smaller group with more personal experience. They also provided homemade salmon dip, hot chocolate and snacks.

Ask for Captain Duane and his son Andrew. They were great. Very knowledgeable as to area, movement of wildlife, especially whales. We saw dozens of whales, dolphins, otters and bald eagles!! The whales we a little docile the day we went. We saw a lot of tails. Lol. Not any breaching but it was a lot of fun. Seeing the... More

This is a great excursion for anyone wanting to see humpback whales. We were lucky on our trip to be able to see quite a few, but no orcas. The captain of our boat was very informative and had always lived in the area so she knew her stuff and was able to take us to all the good spots.... More

We saw Orcas and Humpbacks! What a great choice we made to book our trip online with Icy Strait Whale Adventure, even before we went on the cruise. We read the Trip Advisor reviews and we were not disappointed, in fact we were extremely impressed with the quality of this adventure. The father and son duo of Duane and son... More

We had the most awesome time and were there September 2016. We saw about 15 wales and many more Orcas close up. People that booked on the cruise ship were not that lucky. I think the trick lies in the knowledge of the skipper and his son and the size and speed of the boat and the fact that everyone... More

Duane and son Andrew were great- you could tell they love what they do. Andrew shared some great videos and pictures of whale and dolphin encounters. Duane made certain everyone got their whale spotting and pictures. As some other reviews stated- yep- watch for those bubbles. It was a beautiful and amazing day on the lake and an experience I... Once in a lifetime experience! Captain Duane and his son, Andrew, did a marvelous job of getting us unforgettable encounters with Alaska wildlife. We saw brown bear, eagles, playful sea lions and more humpbacks than we could count. The highlight was the humpback bubble nets. We had seen one about two blocks from the Three Wolves and that was what... More

We booked a whale watching tour through Celebrity Millennium on 8/16/2016. Since thee were 18 of us travelling, we were able to book a private boat ($2500 for up to 24 people) which turned out to be the Three Kittiwakes. Tyler and James are both very helpful. We saw many whales, took great pictures of the humpback whales bubble feeding... More
