We frequently do this hike as it takes us about 1 hour to get to the lodge. We hike frequently but we are talking and viewing along the way. Young people can do this in less than a hour. Lots of switchbacks so not extreme but challenging. Lodge is the best for viewing the gastineau channel, mountains and downtown Juneau.... More

Went for the views, not the hiking. There were good views of the city and was an excellent opportunity to take pictures.

As you have to climb to the mountain it is better to choose a good weather, cause up there could be cold. I think the best time to climb is in the beginning of the season, when you can still find lots of snow. In the end of the season is usually more sun, the view is amazing!

We enjoyed our hike up Mt. Roberts. I was six months pregnant and my 60-year-old parents were with us, and we all managed the trail without any major trouble. It got a bit strenuous toward the top, but we revived over a nice lunch at the expensive, but tasty, restaurant at the top. The hike took us all morning (~3... More

This trail starts at the bottom of the mountain. I read the first part going up to the tram station is very steep. As we were limited on time (ship leaving port) we took the tram up the mountain. Due to the time constraints I was only able to hike the loop trail and a spoke off the loop. For... More

This is an uphill hike all the way. The trail is in good condition and offers views of Mt Juneau and the Gold Creek Basin. At the top you can get a good view of the channel. And, for those with knee issues, you can take the tram down for a nominal fee (or by showing a receipt for spending... More

Hike up to the Father Brown Cross where you will have fantastic 360 views but be aware it does get very windy up the top and the paths are well worn dirt.

We enjoyed our visit to Mt. Roberts. The staff from the tramway to everyone at the top of the Mountain were very friendly. We enjoyed the movie and the lady who introduced the movie was very interesting. Our best meal in Juneau was at the restaurant at Mt. Roberts. There are many hiking trails that were great. From the cross... More

The trail starts at the cruise docks and with a semi steep slope you get to the top in an hour. If you take the cable car to the top, the trail continues following edges and small trail paths. Whichever you choose it is a breathtaking experience when you reach the top. Stunning views of Gastinau channel and beautiful nature.
