Adventures in Alaska is owned and operated by a local family. Offering a unique and personalized way to experience the wonder of whale watching in Southeast Alaska, we pride ourselves in providing you with a truly Alaskan experience. Our hope is that your adventure aboard the M/V SCANIA will be the highlight of your visit to Alaska. We offer the longest "standard" tours in Juneau at a lesser price per hour than the competition. This, along with the fact that we carry a third the number of passengers than most similar-sized whale-watch boats in Juneau, lets us provide real value to families and small groups. Our focus is on customer service, education and fun. Full refunds if you get seasick, or if we don't find a whale.

Let me tell you the story, my wife's dream was to see whales. So when we were to cruise to Alaska I knew it was my responsibility to find not just an excursion but the best way for her to see whales. After searching for 2 days online I found the Scania. Like everyone I priced shopped. I found that... More

We traveled to Juneau on Princess Cruise Lines in August and wanted a whale watching trip that was small and intimate vs. a big boat with a bunch of people. Adventures in Alaska did NOT disappoint. We truly had the trip of a lifetime! We had only our family of 6 and 2 other people on our boat. There was... More

Two BIG thumbs up for Captain Alan and Nolan aboard the Scania. We had a fantastic time and saw many Humpback Whales and hundreds of Sea Lions. The boat was spacious and very well kept. If you are interested in a private or semi-private adventure, Adventures in Alaska is the way to go. Would definitely book with them again. Thanks... More

Everything was like clockwork. Easy advance reservations. Transportation waiting at the cruise dock, comfortable ride to the pier. Capt Alan was great! Knowledgeable, personable, and definitely enthusiastic about sharing "his" whales with us. We spent several hours on the water, pausing to view whales, moving on to other areas when the first area was less productive of sightings. Snacks available... More

We highly recommend the whale watching trip with Captain Alan! He is extremely knowledgeable and made the trip really exciting. We saw Killer Whales and Humpback Whales while they were feeding, and also Harbor Seals. It was so nice to be with a smaller group and not with a big crowd on a larger boat, you get a more private... Three years ago we went out with Capt. Alan on the Scania and had a great time (you can see that review as well). When we visited Juneau again, we knew exactly what we wanted to do. This time, we were a couple weeks earlier in the season (Aug 10) and we had the opportunity to see something quite incredible... More

this was the best whale watch tour ever! We've been in Seward and CC, but Juneau with Captain Allan was by far the best. Long time with the whales and we've seen bubble net feeding as well as breeches. Multiple times! Captain Allan has a small boat so the trip is in a very nice private atmosphere. We've seen larger... Our whale and wildlife adventure on the Scania was amazing! Capt Alan made our tour so interesting and did his best to find all the wildlife available to us that day. Whales, Harbor Seals, hundreds of Sea Lions and the Dahl Porpoises were so fast! He also gave us the opportunity to see two glaciers on our tour. Captain Alan... More

Needed to fit in a customized whale watching adventure within tight time parameters and Adventures in Alaska worked with us to fit it in. We had a great time on the water with Captain Allen locating numerous groups of humpback and killer whales.

My daughter and I had the pleasure of going whale watching with Captain Alan in mid August. It was an incredible experience, one of the most memorable of our entire Alaska cruise. We saw so much in our time on the water - multiple bubble net feeds and breeching with a group of 10 whales, as well as a mother,... More
