We were on a cruise and the ship docked right in town. There were several booths set up at the port, and we bought our $20 round trip (per person) tickets on the Blue Bus to Mendenhall. The buses are supposed to run every half hour, at the top and bottom of the hour, and one of the stops is... More

Myself, my husband, and my parents used Glacier Express to visit Mendenhall Glacier on our recent trip to Juneau...and boy are we glad we did! We only had about a 2 minute wait from the time we bought tickets until we were on the bus and headed to the glacier. The driver was friendly and informative. The ride was scenic... More

We thought by booking online we would save the hassle of getting to Juneau and having to find the kiosk and avoid waiting in line. Well that was a huge mistake. My sister bought the tickets online, but instead of getting the tickets right away, she got an email that said the tickets would arrive in 1-2 days. Well we... More

We were staying in Juneau for a couple of days and wanted to head out to Mendenhall Glacier, but not with a pricey tour. We actually rode the cheap $2 city bus out to the glacier, which stops about a mile short but there is a beautiful walking trail (sidewalk) that passes the beautiful forests, rocks, beaver dams, streams and... We were on a cruise last week and have been to Juneau many time before. We had another couple with us that wanted to see The Mendenhall Glacier and need a ride to the Glacier. Where the ships dock are many small huts selling tours and they were selling transportation to and from the glacier for $10.00 each way. We... More

We walked up and paid cash for four round-trip tickets to the Mendenhall Glacier and were told the bus would be there in 15 minutes. About 10 minutes later another person said it would be 12 minutes. It turned out to be 30 minutes. The bus was hot and we couldn't hear the driver's tour narration. About 2/3rds of the... More

The Blue Bus to Mendenhall doesn't advertise as a tour, but our driver James (sorry l cannot remember your Tlingit name) was a terrific tour guide, with lots of interesting information and stories about Juneau and also very entertaining with his folklore stories and Tlingit translations etc.. I don't recall what the tour cost thru Princess cruises, but the Blue... More

We used the Blue Bus as a way of transportation to The Mendenhall Glacier Park. This is an economical and easy way to reach the park, about 20 minutes drive from Downtown Juneau. The arrive and leave on time from the Mounts Roberts Tramway area directly to the park and back. The drivers kept us entertained with information about the... More

Come out of the dock and you will see numerous stands touting for business at the entrance to the Mount Roberts tramway. Each one will charge $22 (inc Tax) round trip to the glacier. The driver chatted constantly about nothing really !! would rather have had the peace and quiet. Don't make the same mistake I did and ask in... More

There are a ton of vendors trying to sell you tickets to the Mendenhall Glacier. They all sell the tickets for $20 round trip. The bus was a bit old but it got us up to the glacier. The driver was nice and pointed out buildings and bald eagles for us. On the way back we got jokes. He made... More
