Great in the winter, not so much fun during dipnet season. Summer months beach is overloaded with dipnetters. Summer means no parking available, rude people from Anchorage.

This is right in town. Park and stroll along the city boardwalk. Today there was a bustling farmers market with food trucks, some vegetable stands and many artists and shops. View the river or follow the many trails down to and around the park. If...More

Great place to take you dog on and off leash. Lots of space to walk near the water or futher up toward the cliffs. Clean beach with clear view of inlet and the volcanoes to the west.

This is a nice beach for walking and looking at mountains. There are several access points with parking. You will see trucks and SUVs there.

We walked the beach at low tide. It was great walking and the beach rocks were fascinating. Alaskan beaches don't have sand so you are walking on gravel. The mountains across the Inlet were snowy and it was a lovely walk.

An interesting opportunity to observe the locals during their dipnetting (JULY) makes this a good stop. However, the city GOUGES everyone for parking during that time. They even charge to drop someone off the visit and pick them up later, used to be FREE to...More

I haven't been there in August, but I am certain it involves multiple layers and rain.
