My wife and I booked a charter with captain Bruce and had a fantastic time. We purchased the all inclusive 4 nights and 3 days of fishing package. True Alaskan Charters made every effort to make this a memorable and enjoyable experience. Accomodations were very comfortable and the Narrows Inn has some of the best food in town. They also... My three sons and I had a great time fishing with True Alaskan Charters. We purchased the 5-6 hour "Combo Charter for Salmon & Halibut" We were on the cruise ship Princess Star. The True Alaskan Charter folks met us at the cruise ship port and we walked a few feet to where the charter fishing boat was docked. You... More

Was super excited to go salmon fishing and ended up disappointed. The captain took us to the right spots but he didn't seem capable of driving the boat, netting the fish and then re baiting. Several times we drove the boat because the captain was distracted trying to bait. Seems we needed another hand for our party of 5 (4... More

We booked with True Alaskan Charters for a Ketchikan fishing excursion in July 2011, based on the many favorable reviews written in 2010. We made our arrangements by phone, and placed a deposit by credit card. On the morning of our arrival in port, someone from True Alaskan Charters met our group at our cruise ship when we docked, as... More

We were on a cruise and we booked a charter for 4 of us while we were in port in Ketechan with True Alaskan Charters We were met at the dock by Capt. Bruce and taken to the boat that would take us out. Our opinion of our captain was that he was there just to put his time in... More

This was a disappointing experience overall and didn't have to be. First of all, we were supposed to have (and was supposed to be included) a captain and a second person to help. When we got there the Captain (I think his name was Jarod or Josh) told us that the other person called in sick so it would just... More

Did this trip with Grandma, 3 adults, and two girls 10 and 12. It was very beautiful. Captain Bruce was just a great guy and great about talking about the area. We all caught fish! We were on a cruise so we chose not to keep ours. The Captain said he would donate it to a local mens shelter for... More

Just returned from a southbound cruise through the Inside Passage and wanted to pass along a good experience we had in Ketchikan. We are a family of five (2 adults and 3 kids, ages 10, 12 and 15) and hired a boat through True Alaskan Charters (http://www.truealaskancharters.com/). A great, locally owned and operated operation that takes care of both its... More

My husband and I took a charter with True Alaskan and Captain Bruce on a recent trip to Alaska and had a blast! We chose the Salmon and Halibut excursion and had success with both, but we also caught rock fish and cod by chance. We spent about six hours out on the water, and snacks and beverages were provided.... More
