Thanks for visiting! The Tongass Historical Museum's summer 2017 temporary exhibit is about Northwest Coast art from 1900 to the present and features an extraordinary collection of artwork. Admission of $3 was more to support their expansion potential than for the exhibit, which was rather small. But they had many interesting artifacts in excellent condition. If you were interested in the regalia of the Native Peoples, tools, etc. it was well worth it.

My husband and I found the Tongass Historical Museum to be very interesting. It had history of the area as well as information about totem poles. The museum is not real large so was easy to walk through.

A great first stop when in town, especially on a rainy day. We learned a thing or two in this nice little museum. Glad we stopped in here.
