nice hikes around the lakes and through the woods. The visitor's center is a mini-museum and the rangers are most helpful. We got our best suggestions on where to eat from the park rangers.

We had two different groups of family. Some were young and or fit. Others slow and unfit/old. There were trails that all could enjoy. Picnic areas and restrooms conveniently located. Trail heads clearly marked.

Being an Elk member, it was nice to see so many of them. Then we found the moose with their velvet coming off, huge. Saw both black and grizzley bears, musk ox, birds, and porcupines. Well worth the visit.

I love the KNWR. The brand new visitor's center is small, but packs a mighty punch. My two boys love to go through the visitors center and learn with the "hands-on" approach. We take the hiking trails that meander throughout the park as it offers...More

What address can I put in the GPS to reach the visitor center? If there's no GPS address, is the visitor center easy to find? Also, is the refuge itself surrounding the visitor center, or in a separate location miles away?
