Can't explain the experience in words. Awesome. Luvly view. Local people will take tourists inside the forest with their small boat. Lots of birds and one can simply touch the lotus by sitting at the boat. This tour was included in our package so can't tell the price details. But not much for sure.

As a keen birder, I have been coming to this place since 2003. Not that many species but in good numbers. The boat trip is very enjoyable and there are good views from the observation tower (which is now a very solid structure as opposed to the rickety affair they had way back when). Avoid weekends as it gets very... More

Nice and tranquil. Saw a lot of birds. Was there on a private tour. First you take a motorboat to one place and then a rowing boat. There is where I saw most of the birds.

I visited in November and it is a real naturally forest to see birds on my head by small boat. I'd recommend should going from Oct-Dec as the best time because of breeding and flooding season :)

We visited in November and it looked like in the pictures. Boat tours start from the southwest (road on the south side can't be driven so go the other way around). You first take a motorboat, which allows through water covered in green lillies. A bit surreal as it almost seems like land. You then switch to a rowing boat... More

I've spent 35 days in Vietnam and this was one of the highlights. I'd recommend going right when they open (7am) so you have the entire forest to yourself. We paid $6.50 (150,000 vnd) pp for about a hour plus boat ride (actually 2 rides). The birds are beautiful and the serenity of the area is relaxing. Worth it.

We visited Tra Su forest this afternoon coming from Chau Doc. We are heading to Phonm Penh. We went to Tra Su with some guides by car. You take a walk until the entry. We did the boat trip ( 15 minutes ) and we saw so many birds!!!!. It is rainy season and we guess( and asked to the... More

We didn't take the tour, which means we didn't see much at all, however the drive the there was amazing if you take the back roads. The tours we 75K each, which we though was way too much, and we hadn't heard what it was or where you go so we gave it a miss.

We arrived around lunchtime in Chau Doc and decided that we would best spend the day by renting Scooters to drive to the Tra Su mangrove forest. It's about one hour driving from Chau Doc. If you have a GPS map like maps.me it's fairly easy to find. The road is pretty nice with some great views on the local... More
