Pleasant square with shops and cafes. A market some days and the Church of San Pedro on one end. We stopped here for some tapas and to enjoy the sunset on a warm May evening.

The plaza has the statue of Saint Teresa in front of the church and this statue is quite beautiful. There is a bookstore at one end and there are restrooms there, but one has to ask the owner of the bookstore to open the restrooms.

This is like most plazas located in various cities throughout Spain. There are various shops along one side of the plaza. We bought a couple of "yema" sweets that Avila is famous for and enjoyed them while sitting and enjoying the warmth of the sun.

Really beautiful Square in front of the cathedral dedicated to St Teresa d'Avila who died in the 16th century. There is a lovely statue in front of the cathedral which I believe is a very recent addirion and a very worthwhile one. Families seemed drawn...More

The statue of Mother Teresa was covered in many beautiful flower bouquets and wreaths. The Plaza itself is typical of all Spanish plazas - stone architecture with many restaurant patio furniture adorning the perimeter of the square. Nice to visit or walk through as you...More
