This is an eerily stark site just outside the fortified old city of Avila. The views are spectacular, hence the photo ops. It can also be massively crowded with tour groups so if you can be patient and wait for your moment you'll be sure...More

It is a fantastic view and we almost missed it. Just riding out from toledo going over the bridge towards the highway and then on the right hand side...bingo! The view is AWESOME and a great structure to pose in front of.

Can't quite explain why but the place has quite a mystical quality and oh the view is to die for! We went twice: once at night, taxi ride E14 return to see the splendid walls lit up and then again on our way out of...More

I don't know what the monument signifies. This is just a quick stop to view the city walls. Probably the easiest accessible view of the extent of the walls. In terms mornings photos are difficult as one is facing the sun.

This was built about 500 years ago over the site of an old Roman shrine and it has a certain interest, especially at night. But it is the views of the walls of Avila that make it worth the visit.

Walking the city and the wall is a must but really seeing it requires a visit to this site. Magnificent.

Stopped for the photo of the walled village. An amazing spot with a great artist painting the view. So pleased our travel director stopped here. Awesome!

It might not look like it put the four posts offer a great view on Avila and its walls, especialy at night. Only minus point are the countless tourists, so it might take some time to take a really great picture ;)
