Touring Iznik Ayasofya was a breadth taking step back in time. The muezzin was very welcoming and encouraged us to explore. However, there could be better descriptions of the different points of significance for tourists. Highly recommend a visit.

The building is also a mosquee that could be even better integrated. The ruines are not so well restored. The garden around not so much refined, poor maintened bathrooms. In any case it's worth a visit due to historical importance.

Not much to see inside but touching the stones that are going back to AC 4 century gives a time traveling feeling. The ambiance is divine and peaceful.

Iznik - the former Nicea - has a beautiful cami, before it was a church. Free for a visit, and a very nice interior, original wall paintings, a mosaic at the entrance... well worth a visit.

Very well preserved building, you must enter inside to see and feel the old walls. You feel the history deeply inside and also outside. Ottoman empire started here in iznik.
