Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

A wonder,
I must admit that after reading the reviews (especially Amandine's 🤣) I hesitated to book, but I went anyway after communicating with the host and I don't regret it at all.
Tekopa village is a pure place in an idyllic setting with a tranquility that exceeds expectations. I had the little Polynesian cabin on the garden side, it was very clean and the bed was comfortable. The others are facing the water! There are 2 shared bathrooms, I never waited to use them and they are also clean.
The kitchen is outside. It's another dynamic and I find it very cool to cook or do the dishes with the view of the sunset.
There are deckchairs to enjoy the sun and you can swim directly on the site!
Grandpa and grandma are adorable. It’s a little couple from the Tuamotu who will welcome you with open arms.
Mauruuru Roa 🌺 and we look forward to seeing you again!

Cruise ship stop with no available excursions. Island (little atoll) had a total population of 800 with a totally laid back lifestyle centered on the beautiful beaches- when it’s not raining and windy. Unfortunately it was raining and windy the day we were there. We tendered ashore, had a quick look around in the blowing rain and tendered back. So far this South Pacific cruise was not up to our expectations (HAL).

Simple campsite located on a very beautiful site. Magnificent beach. Breakfast included. Functional bungalow and decent bathroom area. Kitchen area with view of the lagoon facing the sunset.

To escape, camping absolutely not pro. Price scam, very limited state of the bathrooms whether hygiene or old. Price for camping advertised at 4500 xff with half board included. In the end we are asked 5500 xpf without any explanation, when they are pointed out, they tell us that the price displayed on their site is wrong, full of excuses found but no mea culpa. At the reception we are refused to store bottles of water in the communal fridge giving us as an alternative solution that THEY sell drinks... evening meal served without water (if we want it we have to pay, shameful when you already pay your half board + tent 5500xf each evening and per person knowing that the village is 6km...). A big feeling of being a cash cow in this place.
Beach with lagoon on the other hand very nice and the person who prepares meals is really nice.
This campsite was probably good years ago (hence the general rating), now it is to flee.

The superb site, the coral beach very beautiful for swimming, unique sunsets. Very far from the village because there is no way to get around. No bike rental Friendly welcome 2 bungalows at 110 euros per night without fan, kitchen and toilets common inadmissible for this price see the photos which are explicit access to the beach paying

We arrived on the island off our ship with nothing planned since on the second leg we already had excursion planned with several people. We were pleasantly to find a little tent offering bike rentals and also a few excursions, one titled "Beach Break". We inquired and were told it was down island about 6 km and was a little beach with bungalows and it included transportation to and from, chairs and coconut water. Sounded great but what we didn't know is how great! When we arrived it was a little piece of heaven, beautiful beach, blue waters and very private, it was run by a husband and wife that spoke no English but somehow we seemed to communicate especially when we met a fellow passenger from the ship who was fluent in french. It turned out to be a perfect day in a perfect setting, we swam, met some wonderful people and then ended our day by sitting with our new friend from the ship and owners of the bungalows. The facilities were very clean and well kept, did not see inside of the bungalows as they were occupied but can only imaging they were very well kept as well. The meeting hut had full cooking facilities and was open air with incredible views, we sat and laughed, drank coconut, had fantastic conversations about the island and were even offered coffee by the Mr. What a perfect day............if you are looking for a great beach to hang out on, this is the place

We arrived here from a cruise ship and didn’t really know what to expect. There were no organised tours from the ship and once here we realised the reason. Fakarava is beautiful for sure and if you are looking for excitement then you are in the wrong place. If however you want to hire a bike, electric or not, enjoy the wonderful views, safe and flat roads and tracks, then you are in the right place. We did just that, cheap bike hire, 2 hours of cycling, swimming and watched the sharks close to the shore, don’t worry they don’t bite. Just lovely.

Pleasant village stretched out along the concrete road right where you alight from a cruise boat. Handicrafts at the dock are pretty minimal but there is a grocery as well as cafes and restaurants, not to mention the several dive shops.

We were very well received by Poe at the campsite Tekopa! We stayed in a bungalow with private bathrooms, quite summary but with room and a very comfortable bed.
Access to a small shared outdoor kitchen, you can also taste the good little dishes of the host.
The campsite is on the beach, quiet, and the view of the lagoon is beautiful, much more than the photos suggest! We recommend!!
