Very nice beach with beautiful white sands and full of colorful fish coral reef. You can also meet a turtle there. Clean surroundings. However, my stay was negatively influenced by the guys at the entrance to the beach who tried to cheat me and my friends. First of all, the taxi guy in Happy Life Hotel told us that the entrance fee is 7 $ (USD) plus 5$ for a taxi per person. At the entrance it occured that the guys wanted 9$ per person. We gave them 10$ bills but they didn't (as usual) have a change. So we proposed that we would pay on our way back when they find the change. On our way back the guys still didn't have 1$ per person to give us back and we found out that in Egyption pounds the entrance is in fact 8 $.... I do recommend the beach but I advise you to watch your wallets!

The beach it self is beautiful. But the staff was not the best. They kept pushing me to order something to drink. I kept saying no I am good for now but they still wouldn’t budge. I ended up ordering so I can get them off my back. They didn’t have change so they said that they will bring back my change in a little bit. I wanted for three hours and asked for my change three different times and each time they just said we are looking for change. They eventually started ignoring me and started avoiding making eye contact with me and never brought back my change.
My second issue was with the diving team. They are charging double the price that’s being charged outside. And when I commented that this is way more than what other places are charging, they didn't want to continue the conversation and the guy I was talking to said “ I am sorry to even bother talking to you” and just left.
So literally the only good thing about this place is the beach. Bring your own snacks and drinks and I would recommend going diving somewhere else.

Absolutely not. I recommend tackling this excursion without booking it on Booking like I did, let me explain, when we arrive on site we discover that to see the coral reef you have to rent a mask at triple the daily price of our resort, ok I'll take one, luckily my son he had brought it with him, the life jacket is optional but if you want it you have to pay about 6 euros for the rental, before going we are provided with a release where we sign to assume all responsibility for the trip, but...what an exaggeration...I I say...are we leaving anyway? Of course... why do they want me to leave the towel on the bed? Can't I put it on the boat because I might need it when I get out of the water? General amazement...which boat?? The one to reach the coral reef...I'll do it...nooo absolutely, you have to swim ma'am if you want to see the turtles, swimming? I'll do it... how far is it? Well it will be 100 metres... Paying for an excursion to stay on a towel on a beach I would say is even less beautiful than the one at my resort... where I also had free drinks... nope!! My son on his way back...Mom...you were right not to come...you would never have made it, and he fell asleep on the cot, well thanks Booking, but drowning in the red sea this year wasn't part of the plan my tour, however if you continue to sell an excursion without explaining the essentials, you may succeed with someone else.

We have been coming here since 2012 and are dismayed at how the reef is suffering. It is not just the rising water temperature, it is the ever-increasing mass tourism with more and more divers, reckless snorkelers and whole buses of tourists being pulled through the water by guides.
The seaweed is almost gone, which has reduced the number of turtles dramatically.
We are currently here and are just shaking our heads at what is going on here: speedboats, you are no longer allowed to snorkel everywhere and are prevented from doing so, while paying tourists are taken by boat to exactly the places they are not allowed to go.
That's it for us, we will not be coming back.
We are left with memories of dugongs and lots of turtles.
The reef will probably be ruined in a few years...

We assume that we left for a half day to Abu Dabbab via our resort Utopia Beach in Marsa Alam... so it was an excursion organized by Veratour. What can I say, beautiful, colorful coral reef and many different fish... but a chaos of incredible people, many groups of people in the sea who accidentally mixed up (fortunately the group leader called the name of the hotel so as to recover the whole group) , the moment in the water was very confusing and distracting especially because the sea was very rough and there was a lot of current... we only spotted one turtle, especially in the seabed, but the water was so cloudy that only its outline could be seen ... what can I say, too bad, very bad. If I had known I would have opted for the "atolls and corals" excursion, it cost double but you are much more likely to encounter turtles (in crystal clear waters) and the famous duodongo.

Amazing Sandy Beach with beautiful snorkeling spots. If you're lucky, you'll get to see sea turtles. Go at 9 in the morning, so that you increase your chances of seeing them. If tour guides are available with reasonable prices, go ahead and book your trip with him. You can easily spend the whole day there. Ticket was 120 LE per person and additional 100 LE per car.

Besides the wonderful snorkeling and scuba diving opportunities to see some of the best secrets of the Red Sea such as the amazing coral reefs and turtles you can also get a chance to ride camels and horses on the beach. If you come to Abu Dabbab beach in Marsa Alam, ask for Ibrahim and Shaaban to get the best customer experience ever in riding a camel on the beach. They really exemplified the importance of customer satisfaction and appreciation.

Fantastic beach. You can meet sea turtles and lots of other fish.
A beautiful coral reef.
Access costs 15 euros and you must bring snorkeling equipment, or it can be rented on site for about 10 euros (mask and fins).
Among the various shops you will find one where the Owner will make you coffee with mocha, which is very good.

During the day there are several large waves of tourists. If you don't have your own fins - rent them. It is a strenuous and long swim.
Two shallow reefs. If there are any turtles here, they are probably only after the tourists leave - they are spooked. I only saw a turtle at the Amarina Queen Resort. The access to the sea is gradual, on the sand. Prices in restaurants are acceptable.

Help!!!
- Quale resort consigliate?
Ringrazio sin d'ora chiunque possa darmi informazioni.

Ciao! Grazie!

buon giorno, vorrei andare a Marsa Alam a metà aprile.

We will be staying at Royal Tulip, can we just make our own way to the beach and then stay as long as we want? Looks that way from other posts and I appreciate there is an entry fee, but other than that are we ok to just bring our own snorkels and just have a look round the bay? Many thanks.
