It certainly is a large Buddha statue at almost 16m in height, weighing around 60 tonnes and being forged from copper. It took almost 30 years to produce and replaced the wooden Daibutsu which had burnt down several times in the course of it's life....More

The most handsome Buddha is worthy of a quick stop on the way to or from Kojo Park. Make sure you have a green tea ice cream from the store diagonally across from the Buddha.

A nice open area with a small temple on site. No entrance fee, open everyday. It is considered among the top three Buddhas along with the ones in Nara and Kamakura.
