For as long as I can remember I’ve wanted to ride on a dog-sled team. This experience allowed me and my girlfriend to ride with an experienced musher and a team of 10 great dogs. We started our experience on a chilly Saturday morning by getting issued a snow suit and gloves. After a quick instructional class around an outdoor fire pit, we went to meet our dogs. While our guide selected and hitched our team, I and my girlfriend met and petted the 80+ dogs on site. Then it was off to the trails. I stood on the sled, behind our guide and my girlfriend took the seated position. It was an AWESOME time and the musher and dogs were FANTASTIC. We had a GREAT experience and look forward to returning for snowmobiles next week!

After arriving at the place (you can search for Snowhook Adventure on Google maps) we got a lovely welcome in the main building where we got a snowsuit which I highly recommend.
Getting dressed we got an introduction about the dog sled sport itself, especially the Iditarod race. The guide told us her experience and answered all the questions we had about the snow sport which was very interesting.
Then we got to the dogs which was huge. Overall there are about 70 dogs on the place, we got the opportunity to go to them, cuddle with them. Getting lucky, there were newborn puppies at the place so we got the chance to see them.
After our sled dogs have been chosen (7 dogs per sled) the real adventure began. It was really amazing, we had about one hour interactive sledding experience, where we learned a lot about the commands, the handling of the sled and the behaviour of the dogs. We got several breaks during the run and our guide also made some pictures so that we had some memories to share with our friends later.
After the "race" we could help getting the dogs to their dog houses, thanking them for this great adventure. After changing clothes there were some souvenirs available in the main house which we definitely grabbed.
Thanks for the Snowhook Adventure Team (dogs included) for this once-in-a-lifetime adventure!

Totally awesome! This was my very first tour with Snowhook. Wasn’t sure what to expect, I live in the area and have always heard great things and knew that they had beautiful trails they ran on which is what drew me to the tour in the first place. Little did I know we were not taking some touristy little UTV ride. We were gonna GO! The guide will ease you into it and the trail gets a little more technical with time. Jeremiah did a great job of making the guests safe and confident drivers. Thank you so much. My family and I had a blast.

Snowhook Adventures is a great spot to visit. The experiences we had were so wonderful. Their staff and guides were all so friendly and did a great job sharing information and answering questions. We had the best time. We did the dog sledding and the UTV tour. We loved seeing the dogs and getting to be a part of their training. We were able to love on all the dogs. A dog lovers dream!! The UTV adventure was so amazing with the route and the views. I highly recommend Snowhook Adventures to anyone going to the area.

Our guide, Titus, was an absolute joy—funny, engaging, and attentive. He took exceptional care of us, making the experience feel more like a day spent with a dear friend rather than simply hiring a guide. Thank you!

This ROCKED! Everyone was very friendly. The Trails were very cool along with the views and a moose we found! It rained the whole time but we stayed dry in the UTV's with the gear they had for us and the UTV's handled the terain very well. We all had a blast doing this!
Matt (our guide) was Fantastic, Entertaining and did an awesome job guiding the group!
Thank You!

Over the summer, my six year old daughter, and I had the most extraordinary experience with Snowhook! It began with a immersive experience at the kennel where we learned about the history of this incredible company, their champion dogs and they’re amazing runs in multiple Iditarod races.
If you have never experienced summer dog sledding, it is a must do! And a must do with Snowhook.
Following the dog sledding excursion, we were treated to a delectable lunch that was not only prepared with love on site, but also met our dietary restrictions.
From there, we loaded up in the shuttle and were transported to the most quaint, exquisite and luxurious campsite at the base of Hatcher Pass. My daughter and I climbed into our UTV and off we went up through and over rushing rivers, hills and narrow cliff side terrains to find ourselves perched a top one of the many peaks Hatcher Pass has to offer.
The views were beyond breathtaking and the adventure was so captivating that my daughter and I signed up to do a third tour on that very day! It was the Midnight Sun UTV ride and it was just as spectacular.
Our guides on all three excursions were awesome. Simply awesome! The amazing memories that my daughter and I made on that day will last a lifetime. I am already making plans to do even more adventures with Snowhook in the coming winter months.
If you are craving an experience of a lifetime through the beautiful Alaskan terrains, let Snowhook be your guide. You will not be disappointed!

Amazing experience! Jason was an excellent guide - gave us plenty of information about The Iditarod, how sledding works and the pups on our team. All the dogs we encountered (and there were many!) were well behaved and a pleasure to be around. Scenery was absolutely stunning, Willow is a beautiful area! The roundtrip service from Anchorage was very much appreciated, especially for us who are new to this type of the terrain. Definitely recommend this for anyone visiting!
